Some people seem to keep overlooking the fact that we have got Ayari in. He looks capable of a number of different midfield roles to me.

    And Ayari.

Quiz : First and Lasts of Coventry City

Yes so as I thought, it was Burnley away, then Forest away, before the first home game against Sheffield Utd.

It would be a bit frustrating, but I presume you wouldn't want the club to be taken for a ride and pay over the odds, or alternatively sign someone who wasn't near the top of our list?

Just play Moore as a box- to-box midfielder then. Problem solved.

Quiz : First and Lasts of Coventry City

Thinking about this (and I still haven't looked anything up) surely our first top flight game was a 2-1 defeat at Burnley where our goal was an own goal? If so, the Forest match where Curtis broke his leg was only the second match anyway.

You're desperate to replace Hamer with a defensive midfielder?

It was awesome, like nothing else I've ever witnessed!

Quiz : First and Lasts of Coventry City

In your preamble to question 1, I think the official attendance for the Wolves game was 51,000 or so (but there was so much chaos that 55000 is possible!) And yes I was there :) I also have picture in my head of being at the first home game in Div 1, and in my mind's eye I'm seeing Sheffield...

Don't know why but I'm finding it funnier than anything I've read on here since Hill's 'Boddy Shop'.

Do The First Team Players Read This Forum?

I am sure players are warned / educated not to look at forums, but I’d be amazed if they weren’t tempted, and even if they don’t read it personally, both praise and criticism will seep through to them. They don’t exist in a bubble, and some (especially younger players) are bound to take things...

    Transfer Rumour Palmer to Norwich

Surely we were at least as vulnerable towards the end of the game on Saturday (after Palmer went off) as we had been at any previous stage of the match?

    Transfer Rumour Palmer to Norwich

I’d be massively disappointed with that as Palmer is the most watchable and creative player we have, and given how much of the end of last season he missed I imagine still not at full sharpness. No doubt people will say he’s made of glass, can’t last 90 minutes blah blah, but I really don’t know...

    We don't create enough

Palmer played a number of brilliant balls yesterday. I can (just about) understand people criticising his stamina etc., but surely not his skill and creativity.

A photo i saw online id never seen before of HR

Yes it was 'boisterous' in the West End, and looking back with 21st Century eyes the atmosphere at football matches was prehistoric really. To most people, it seemed prehistoric even at the time to be honest.

So you stuck to one place in ground, even when they put the seats in! I was the opposite - I had long spells (years) on the Kop, the crow's nest, in the Main Stand, and the West End (before and after seating), but I literally don't think there was any part of Highfield Road I didn't watch games...
