Over the years there have been many young players who look world beaters in their teens but never make the grade. I remember my ex father in law supported Leicester and in 1974 they played QPR in the televised cup quarter final. Both were in the old first division, a lad called Joe Waters made...

    Ben Wilson

I had a dream last night we sold Wilson to Sunderland. The good news we got £5M for him. The bad news was we took Burge back in part exchange.

If his left arm was 10ft long

The turning point wasn't the Bristol City game, it was the game before that (QPR)

The problem is he just doesn't smile enough. It's a fine line though, if he overdoes it he could end up like Sheaf

    Best feeling ever?

Some of the older posters will remember the game v Wolves in 1967, when we won promotion to the old first division. https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/day-1967-coventry-city-win-9142043

    Today’s games

They needed points to be sure of safety before tonight's result, plus I doubt they will find our defence as accommodating

    Today’s games

That would mean Derby getting 4 points from Birmingham (H) and Swansea (A) as well as beating Sheff W, in which case Sheff W couldn't catch us. Sheff W can only equal our current points by winning all their remaining games (including Derby)

    Today’s games

I think we will be mathematically safe by 5pm on Saturday. 4 points from Stoke and Preston who are in mid table and will hopefully not be too bothered, meanwhile Derby host Birmingham who still need points to ensure safety. Derby are the lowest scorers in the Championship and only Southend...

    Today’s games

Derby are bottom of the form table for the last 6, 8, 10, & 12 games.

    Today’s games

If Rotherham get anything tomorrow night thay could have a chance of sending Derby down, Their other home game is against Blackburn. Their away games against Barnsley and Brentford look tough but they could pick up a couple of points from their games at Luton / Cardiff.

    Goals Scored

There have been quite a few posts about our lack of goals over the season, and comments like where's the next goal coming from? Six teams have scored fewer goals than us, Luton (36), Forest (34), Birmingham (32), Derby (31), Sheff W (35) and Wycombe (32) Further to that Millwall, Bristol C...

    Championship Record

It's strange how MR has turned our late season form on its head, in L2 a late spurt into the playoffs and then the glorious semi and final games. Last season our results from Christmas onwards were phenomenal, and now this season's late run (hopefully it continues)

    Do you consider us safe?

Yes, particularly it's been said that Rotherham are a much better team than us by some 😂. I could never understand this, and I doubt they have had the amount of long term injuries to key players we have had.

    Today’s games

I would prefer them both to lose and us to win

    Safe

48 points will probably be enough going on the current form of the teams below us, but I will feel more confident next week end depending on the results between now and then. I think we will get well above 50 points anyway.

    Match Thread Barnsley (H)

MR's tactics, play the worst formation and team selection possible until the 40th game and then bring on plan A and the A team. It fools the opposition every time. Seriously though, MR has a track record of finishing the season strongly with us.
