    Remaining games

Reading through this thread earlier, some of the predictions with 9 games to go were so way out. One or two predicting around 4 points. We actually took 16 points from those 9 games. It just shows, apart from the entertainment value, how difficult it is to guestimate how games will turn out. In...

    Derby Sheffield Wed Match Thread

They were 2-0 up at Swansea with 10 min. to go a few weeks ago. Easy to say, I know but those 2 dropped points could have made the difference.

    Gustavo Hamer

Hamer's form dipped when stopped getting booked every week for unnecessary fouls. Not sure if that is the cause or the effect.

Derby need to win now to be sure of staying up, a draw would have been enough if Rotherham had lost

    May 2017 - April 24th 2021

Add to this, winning the 3 games in a row when we really needed to against the odds, showing real strength of character from both the team and manager. Not a fluke, 2 of those opponents needed the points as much as we did.

    Why were we ever worried?

If it wasn't for the fact that Rotherham have lost their last 5 games you would think they have a chance of staying up looking at their and Derby's remaining fixtures. Rotherham have lost all the last 5 games by 1 goal and they have had some tough games with every opponent except perhaps...

    How are new songs adopted?

I think it's amazing how quickly things spread in a crowd. Think about the mexican wave, it must have started of with one person waving their arms around. That person would have looked very silly if it hadn't caught on.

    Why were we ever worried?

Talking of the "massive turnaround saving the day" Our club historically has been brilliant when it comes to big games, and current management have never bottled big games either, so our recent form didn't particularly surprise me.

    Why were we ever worried?

It's easy to look back on a couple of threads to see who was panicking and who was not in recent weeks.

    Why were we ever worried?

Rotherham this, Rotherham that. I keep trying to say it wasn't just between us and Rotherham. Take Rotherham out of the equasion and we would still only have been in the bottom 3 a couple or three times, mostly due to having a game in hand.

    Why were we ever worried?

I didn't ever think we would be relegated, I think we are a much better team than Rotherham, Sheff, Derby, Huddersfield, (and of course Wycombe), and certainly as good as Blackburn, Birmingham, Bristol, Forest. We have had horrendous bad luck with injuries, other teams have had injuries as well...

    Why were we ever worried?

Immediately before we played Rotherham we were a point behind Derby with a game in hand and only 2 points behind Huddersfield with them still to play. https://www.11v11.com/league-tables/league-championship/11-april-2021/ As far as I can recall it was never just between us and Rotherham. Going...

    Todays games

Don't write Sheff W off yet, a point on Saturday at home to Forest, and if Derby lose away to Swansea they could yet beat the drop. Same goal diff as Derby.

    Why were we ever worried?

Even if we had lost to Rotherham I still think we would have stayed up. I don't think we would have gone the way Rotherham are going, their fixture congestion has done for them. What I could never understand is how some posters thought Rotherham were sure to stay up and we were sure to get...
