    How are you with Marmite?

    Victor Torp

Torp's not showing abilities he didn't show before, but his contribution has stepped up with a clear improvement in fitness. I seem to recall he missed most of the pre-season with an injury, and it takes a while to catch up from that. As has happened with other players, some people on here were...

Mind you, he does need to stop jumping for headers three seconds before the ball arrives. Puzzling that!

    Ellis Simms

From posts on other threads it's clear that Simms is something of a 'Marmite' player. I'm in the "love him" camp. He's playing arguably the toughest position on the pitch, as evidenced by the premium which is paid for top strikers. Some centre forwards take a few years to really mature into the...

    Josh Eccles

Eccles has gone from a nailed-on starter under Robins to a bench player for Lampard, and you can see it has hit his confidence, making him do things he wouldn't normally do. He's a very good Championship player, but is going to have to adjust to the new reality of his role in the squad. There's...

Match Thread Coventry City - Watford FC Match Thread - Saturday 25th Jan

Yeah, I don't normally pay much attention to performances of opposition players, but Chakvetadze was superb all game. A class above the Championship I think.

    Dean Austin position untenable

We didn't all think it though. Some of us have tried in vain all season to counterbalance the absurd bollux that's posted on here after every defeat. It reaches the point where you just have to sigh and let it go.

    Parking

If you live within 45 mins walk of the ground, I can't imagine that driving was ever worth the bother.

The consensus on here is often nonsense. Our problems this season have been in the two penalty areas.

Transfer Rumour New signing pending - Rabbi Matondo

Got to be Roy Barry alongside Gary Gillespie. That would be awesome.

Transfer Rumour New signing pending - Rabbi Matondo

Colin Hendry was a good player in his day, but truly awful for us.

Transfer Rumour New signing pending - Rabbi Matondo

There was definitely a match in the late 1960's when our entire forward line (7 to 11) was Scottish. Carr, Gibson, Martin, O'Rourke and Hannigan? Possibly Quinton Young instead of one of those?

    Transfer Rumour January transfer window

IMO the correct meaning is what you've said in quotes. The Telegraph have put the comma in the wrong place, and I suspect it should be after the word 'games' 🙂

Got to disagree here - today stood out as a really poor quality game IMO

    Bidders New Contract

Surprised it didn't come up with this... "Cross and Blockwell" - an amusing wordplay on two of his footballing skills and his reputation for drinking canned soup

Anyone we bring in has to be able to do way more than Maguire did.

    Dasilva New Position

I agree he was probably bought to pay LWB, but for me a good wingback should be able to motor up and down the pitch all game, covering a huge amount of ground and doing attacking and defensive duties in equal measure. I don't see that in him, just a neat footballer who can play in tight spaces.
