Correct the kick was the icing on the cake. The issue was he made the decision and felt he needed to run 20+ yards to claim the ball his defender likely had covered.

So we need a no9, who, and by what means?

He's a non starter in every sense. His age, cost of signing him, wage he'd want to leave port vale....

So we need a no9, who, and by what means?

I don't understand your post, you suggest we pay above the average wage likely higher than the current squad likely risking upsetting the balance of the group for 12 weeks. Can I ask what hero who is out of contract, fit ready to go and will sign till the summer is available or will leave...

February - Make or break month.

I think the next 8 games will indicate where we will finish. Some real tricky big games. Swindon, the form side of the division on away results plus they generally win at the Ricoh, then Cambridge who are no great shakes but that spells trouble in it own right before we get to February. A...

    Goalkeeping over the years

That fact he's about to hit the 100 club sums up our plight over the last 3/4 seasons

    Goalkeeping over the years

It's 2-2 in my book and bizarrely identical errors. O'Brien has received criticism for coming to claim risky balls v stoke yet Burge has too that's gone under the radar due to his clean sheets. Burge has also gone on crazy wonders recently and got away with them till yesterday. Burge has...

Every time we have conceded a howler

Mansfield started the last day in 12th on 65pts and Blackpool in 7th on 67 points. There was still plenty to play for between 7 sides to make 6 and 7th spot. 4th and 5th spot battled between each other for final standings. With the top 3 going for the title.

    Today's Highlights

I'm glad someone else had noticed he's gone on a few wonders and got away with them recently. Some players don't suit the modern sweeper keeper role. O'Brien was nailed for the error at Yeovil, only fair Burge gets the same criticism and is benched for Swindon.

Every time we have conceded a howler

Another scenario.... who will the blame be pointed at if no mistakes are made for the rest of the season and we miss out in the play offs by a point or two. Will it be O'Brien for the Newport and Yeovil errors. Will it be Burge for the Exeter and Forest green error Or Biamou for not scoring.

Every time we have conceded a howler

Who would of thought that the 3rd placed side would win the title on the last day... it's a funny league.

Match Thread Exeter City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 13th Jan

It's the sign of his ability when he was 20-24. Not the full reflection of the 25 now 26 year old we signed and what he may achieve when he's 26+ given a run of games. MR and TW must rate him to a point to have signed him. Correct Burge was in goal for two relegation battles but hasn't exactly...

Again plenty of variables to be thrown in. O'Brien has a better clean sheet percentage in L2 for CCFC for example O'Brien has played the bulk of his games at low end L2 clubs that were relegated or clinched survival season after season.

    They've all had there jabs!

    Goalkeeping over the years

All is forgiven as he's kept 10 clean sheets in league 2 with a solid defensive unit in front of him.

    Biamou

Thank you, I've learned something new... On a quick search you are correct, there is a basic award payed to Clubs from the EFL. I think it's £472,000 for League two clubs and league one it's £677,000 and we'd receive 12.6% of that for one season. So there would be a slight reduction, but like...

    Biamou

Complete side question but what makes you think the budget would be less next summer to last summer? Revenue streams should still be the same? It's only the checkatrade prize money the difference yet we will have no Turnbull or Reid on the books next summer like we had last summer so all...

So we need a no9, who, and by what means?

Would you break any likely wage structure for Mr port vale Tom Pope at his stage of his career when he was available for a free last summer? He's joined a Bury on loan I believe

    Goalkeeping over the years

I'm not convinced, the spine of the side was still weak. A senior keeper would of most likely helped as Lee Burge did make errors along with RCC but overall it would of been a huge task still. I think it's time for O'Brien was given a run of games again and a decision made over the summer.

    Goalkeeping over the years

It's bizarre how previous managed have opted not to invest in a senior keeper, you can only suggest the budget hasn't been able to stretch to cover one at times or simply opted not too being happy with what we have. Pressley, TM and now MR have entered a season without one. We've had Alsop...

Did he win it back or did RCC all but hand the gloves back after errors himself? Maybe a change of manager helped this too Plus as I've said on a previous post how many times has obrien been number two to a senior keeper as opposed to a similar young keeper while he's been in his early 20's...
