    Match Thread Watford (h)

I know stats can often be meaningless, but I note Watford have the 2nd highest xG in the league, and the lowest xG against. Statistically at least, they're due to give somebody a mauling.

    Match Thread Watford (h)

If you want an example of why people question the commercial side of the club sometimes, look no further than this. It is the morning of a game and there are now only singles available. Somebody has forgotten to open the last block for sale.

Not sure we're allocating more than 3K at the moment.

They have sold out haven't they? They have designated it some sort of junior fans away day and have sold a load. Not sure what their allocation was though.

    Chief Operating Officer

His CV won't look too shabby after this latest role. Was appointed when the club was in the 4th division and he bows out shortly after the club was a penalty shootout away from the PL. I am aware that people completely refuse to give him any credit for this rise. But seriously, you'd have to...

Fair enough It's just that innate pessimism I have as a City fan that says a team with that much ability doesn't go four games without scoring and it will obviously all come together against us. Completely irrational of course.

    Hamer

It's all gone a bit weird. Gus came to the game as it was an opportunity for him to say goodbye to a few people he hadn't had chance to see before he left. A few kids from the family stand had their picture taken. So what. That's it. Nothing cringe about it and I doubt we'll see him again this...

Watford had one of those days today it seems. They've had 58 shots in last 3 games and failed to score once. Probably not the best time to be playing them.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sunderland Match Thread - Saturday 26th Aug

Thought that was OK. Bossed the game for long periods and created a few openings. Ran out of steam last 20, could have done with another change tbh, there were a few treading water at the end. On another day we nick that, but not too despondent, it will come. Got pretty modest expectations...

It certainly is for visitors as they will follow their sat nav, and that will almost always take them up the FR as it is usually the quickest route. Nobody follows sign posts these days.

Emley moor TV mast? So Huddersfield or thereabouts

    Sunderland crowd..

It seems odd to be disappointed, because a 25K league gate is fantastic given where we were a few years ago. The pricing debate will rumble on, but I do think with some minor changes, especially around kids pricing, we're talking about a full house today and those 5000 empty seats are filled...

    Sunderland crowd..

Crowd looking like it will be pretty much the same as the Boro game in the home end. More overall as Boro didn't bring many (which was fair enough).

. I'd love to smash these today, just can't shake off this nagging feeling we're going to get turned over.

    Sunderland crowd..

They have opened about 10 rows. By this stage against Boro blocks 4, 5 and 27 were fully opened and well populated. We ought to be selling more home tickets for this than an early kick off televised game and yet sales are behind and will remain so it seems. There is no positive spin here, these...

    Sunderland crowd..

Population of Leicestershire is 1.1 million. They'll also find less competition in places like Melton Mowbray than we get in Nuneaton and other Warwickshire towns full of Villa/Blues/Leicester fans. Leicester have a notably bigger catchment area than us to be honest.

    Season Tickets!!!

Received some but not all. Last season SC season tickets were a different design, so easy to flash at the steward at the bottom of the steps. No difference this season and my block number is smudged so no way for them to verify I'm in SC. I imagine they will just have to do away with the ticket...
