Just had a strange phone call

I don’t see Bournemouth as being in decline. They were unlucky to be relegated, and although they’ve lost a couple of players, we were still playing basically a team of Premier League players. The disappoinment last night was our difficulty in keeping possession in the middle of the park. We...

Just had a strange phone call

Neither Dabo or Hamer are currently worth anywhere near £10m. I think they and our other players are good enough to keep us up, but they found it hard to compete with a very strong Bournemouth team last night. I think we have been talking some players up too much, and then our expectations of...

Dabo looks a touch heavy to me, it looks like he’s not quite up to match fitness yet. These are going to be a strong Championship side, and it’s going to be a tough second half for us. If we can hang on and take a point, we will have done really well.

Blimey, if I spent a home Saturday with you C, I’m sure I’d have a great day, and I’m equally sure I wouldn’t wake up on Sunday morning!😟😂

Yep, great strike, but how poor are Man City? Just invited him to shoot. Time for Gardiola to show how good he is....

Yep, sluggish is the word. Constantly caught in possession. Having said that most of our passing was sloppy. Glad to hear the final whistle. Another point.

    An humble apology

The way he stood that cross up for Godden’s goal was excellent. It’s funny isn’t it that he had one game in half a season last season, now he’s our first choice. Sam moving on, I guess, but a little surprised that he wasn’t rotated for a few games. Might have been if we’d finished the season.

On the basis that we should have been ahead half time, maybe we’re a bit unlucky. But they’ve bossed the second half. We’re tired.

Brilliant that - well done! I recognised George Curtis, but no others. Was that Bobby Gould scoring the header, or was it too soon for him?

Interesting photographs, and what about the number of motor manufacturers, who had all switched production to support the war effort? No wonder Coventry was such a target. Fascinating to try and picture where things are now.

Thanks for the photographs, Houch, amazing, and moving. And lots of interesting and moving stories from posters. I think we can all be proud of our heritage, even if a lot of us weren’t there at the time! I’m including a photograph of the book, for those that are interested. Thanks for...

I think as well as unloading, bombing was not always accurate, the Nazis had decided that bombing civilians was legitimate, as a means of breaking the morale of the population in key towns like Coventry.
