Fairly sure it's more about careful ACLR management than anything to do with his performance. If he gets one more ACL injury you'd think his career is over.

I find this aversion to keeping a (so far) successful squad together baffling... Quality additions are clearly needed to augment what we already have but continuity is important when you find a successful formula - no need for drastic changes to the squad in our current position.

As a lil update for those interested - this image shows that impact occurred on the medial (inside of the) left ankle/shin, which is where the swelling is. Ligament injuries occur on the opposite side to the impact, as this is where the joint is opened up and the ligaments of that side are over...

The ankle would be swollen at the front rather than the lateral area in two scenarios: - Traumatic contusion injury from an impact - Disruption to the high ankle ligaments and/or syndesmosis The second would be fairly serious hence why I started the thread asking if anyone saw the mechanism...

The caption of this tweet suggests he sustained this from the penalty incident... Did anyone get a good look at what exactly happened? The location of the swelling (suggestive of a syndesmosis injury which is much worse than a bog standard ankle sprain) would mean if it was a twisting mechanism...
