Not so sure about being "figured out", McKenna is an exceptional manager. They might tail off a little bit but that's more likely due to their squad not having as much quality as others or McKenna being poached by a PL club.

Yep. Norwich did it a year or 2 previous as well. Think Watford are the only other to do it.

    Joey barton

Utterly classless as usual from Barton. Singling out a player so seriously as that & actually blaming him alone for the defeat. Let's not forget that Luke has battled some pretty serious mental health issues to even be back playing which he appears to take a dig at too by calling him "feeble...

Deserved that Simms. Yes his finishing & final decision making have been a bit off, but he's absolutely terrorised them.

With Sakamoto, I think Robins has said as much, he's a bit of a punt in that he's a very good player but he needs to learn the game over here & what his role will be in our side. He's played wingback a lot at his previous club, but every team uses their wingbacks in different ways & he needs to...

With Gus, as most know he had been shifted to RWB at Zwolle, so would probably have dropped off many teams radars (if he was even on there). It was Badlan's prior knowledge of him that saw him as a CM & recommended him on that basis. Even then we had to fight off other clubs offering more money...

Agreed. I doubt very much that lies with the recruitment team though, they definitely had targets identified. By all accounts there's been some disconnect between MR & King or a deal fell through.

Sure & the higher the fee you're willing to pay I would suggest is the more 'certain' you are that the player is the right fit & can make an impact pretty quickly. Countless examples of players going for huge fees that haven't worked out too though, there's no guarantees. Lower end would be...

Recruitment in football is pretty much the hardest thing to get right. Some have debated about how important is a manager to a football club & there's some interesting thoughts on that but one thing that absolutely cannot be denied is the importance of having quality players. Then add to that...

5 At The Back Needs To Go

It's not really something I'd look at tbh, especially not this early into the season as the sample size is too small & there's too many variables; i.e. having a penalty at 0.77xG massively skews it. xG isn't perfect for single shot or even single games as there's no way to account for...

5 At The Back Needs To Go

11.0 xG from 102 shots = 0.11xG per shot. 6 shots from inside 6 yard box 58 other shots from inside the area 38 shots from outside the area

This will piss on a few people’s chips

Agree with most of this but I don't think it's a deliberate tactic to move the ball so slowly, we just don't really have the players to pass with tempo & purpose consistently at the moment. When Huddersfield put the midfield under pressure last night they reverted to type; safe sideways passing...
