Rewatch the goal. If Collins is poppadom wrists, then Binks has got poppadom feet… Between Collins and Binks, it’s a poor goal to concede.

I don’t think the squad is unbalanced, it just needs a bit more quality in a couple of areas. We have been v unlucky with injuries in this stretch too.

Did you think we’d beat Boro over two legs in 22/23? I didn’t and certainly not after we drew the home leg. We’ve been better than Sunderland over the season since Lampard came in and we’ve beaten Bristol twice this season so I’d fancy any of them in the final or over two legs if it came to it...

    Outcomes required for Playoffs

Post-WBA, it did effectively mean we could lose both the away games as long as we beat Boro on the final day. That has been a must win game as soon as it was clear we’d be in playoff contention. Besides, Boro had played 2 of the 3 teams with nothing left to play for and only got 1 point from...

It’s not unfair to point out that Binks could’ve done better if he doesn’t trip over himself. The first and most egregious mistake was obviously Collins but that clearance is fairly routine imo.

Am I right in thinking that head-to-head comes into play after GD? If so, we have an advantage over Millwall, Blackburn, Bristol and Boro (atm).

Whoa, no need for that Torchy, I was only making a silly innuendo to lighten the mood!

    … Nice 😏

It’s just hearsay on the coach up to the game from randomer. They supposedly had tenuous links to Wilson and it was said that he expected to play this week. Assuming that’s true, it poses the following questions: - why did Lampard change his mind? and - what did he see to not trust Wilson in...

I do think people have let Binks off the hook a bit. The ball was going slow enough he could’ve cleared it. That doesn’t change that Collins left the goal open and almost definitely impeded Kitching from dealing with a relatively routine clearance.

    Outcomes required for Playoffs

This has got to be the final straw for Collins. As flawed as Wilson is, I can’t recall him making such basic, unforced errors. Collins, dare I say it, had a 8/10 game until the mistake that lead to the goal. Unfortunately, GK is a ruthless position where a 90% bang on performance isn’t good...

Exactly. If Leeds win convincingly v Bristol, a draw v Boro may see us overtake them and any teams like Blackburn/Millwall that could overtake us on GD may also finish above them. Then we finish 6th anyway. We didn’t do ourselves a favour in the recent away games which is massively...

    Outcomes required for Playoffs

Psychologically, would Sheff U want to lose to Blackburn if they then have to play them twice in the following days? Wilder has said he wants to go into the playoffs on a high for obvious reasons. Yes, they’re already qualified, but it’s not good if they go into the playoffs on a loss. Either...

I said that with Plymouth in mind where, for each goal, there were clear defensive errors before Collins got involved. That obviously doesn’t absolve him, far from it. Today, I’ve laid the blame at Collins’ feet because it was an unforced error from him.

    Outcomes required for Playoffs

How likely is that Millwall will beat Burnley away? Likewise, Blackburn to beat Sheff U away? Not likely to be honest. Boro need to beat us and a win v Boro all but guarantees a playoff finish unless Bristol win v PNE and Millwall beat Burnley by 5+ goals (e.g. 6-0, if we win by 1, 7-0 if we...
  16. Mucca Mad Boys

    Lampard

He has. Against Plymouth Collins wasn’t our worst rated player which should tell you something. If the defence is doing its job properly, a GK shouldn’t have anything to do. The positions we were in for Collins to mess up were because of v basic defensive errors. He made his errors but the...

More silly talk. The Championship is a tough league because the results are unpredictable.

    Outcomes required for Playoffs

Exactly, Bristol are just as at risk of dropping out than us. Millwall’s playoff hopes have always hinged on them finishing above Bristol City because they needed us to lose 3 out of 3. Right now, we’re closer to Bristol City than Boro are to us.
  19. Mucca Mad Boys

    Lampard

Not really. The defending v Plymouth just wasn’t good enough despite Collins’ mistakes.
  20. Mucca Mad Boys

    Lampard

That is a ridiculous statement! 😂 The squad is robust as we had our best form without our two top scorers. We are just at a point of the season where players are pushing through injuries or dropping off and we’re still a few players short. This is v typical overreacting over a bad period.
