Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Saturday 3rd May

I can see Blackburn sneaking a win at Sheff U who might well rest a few with the play-offs 5 days later. Not a hope in hell Millwall win at Burnley.

Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Saturday 3rd May

As shit as we've been away from home against teams set up with a low block, our home record is exceptional. The fact Middlesbrough have to come at us will help as well. Its not as if they are coming to us in any sort of form themselves. I think we'll rise to the occasion like we have in...

    Brad Collins Poll

Its more frustrating than usual because he'd played so well until the goal. I'd argue it was even worse than the Burnley one as that was a "to me, to you" moment with Kitching. The Luton goal was sheer madness. Imagine he plays and makes another howler that costs us a top 6 place.

    Astonishing (potential) stat

We could get promoted and Preston relegated with us having lost more league games than Preston. Surely that has never happened before?! Credit: Some bloke on Twitter

    Matchday Rewind Coventry City 0 - 1 Everton | Sat, 01 Aug, 1987

The only Wembley game I've missed and the only one we've ever lost.

    Lampard

I think it will be more an immediate sense of frustration if we end up losing our last 3 and miss out on the play-offs by, say, 1 point. But yes it'd hard to say the season hadn't been largely positive given where we were when Lampard came in.

    Outcomes required for Playoffs

If we do make it there is a damn quick turnaround to getting play off tickets out, 5/6 days between games. Was it that quick 2 years ago?

    1 game to go

He played 13 mins v WBA which was exactly the time we started to lose control of the game.

    Championship thread 24/25!

Because the scenario is the same isn’t it? win and we’re guaranteed top 6 (unless Millwall win 5-0 at Burnley) and a draw is enough if Millwall and Blackburn don’t win. And even then we might sneak in if Bristol lose both. We’re slightly less likely to finish 5th is the only downer.

Match Thread Luton Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 26th Apr

I've lost count of the number of times over the years we've come against a team that has had to use it's back-up keeper. Not once has it ever resulted in said keeper being anything other than solid and dependable. Yet here we are with two keepers to choose from and shitting ourselves that...

    2 games to go

We'd be 5th if we beat Luton and Bristol City don't beat Leeds. They're only 1 point ahead of us. We'd also be 5th if we draw at Luton and Bristol C lose by 3 or more at Leeds.

No average or better Championship keeper is conceding that 2nd goal, in fact I'd have saved that and I'm 49 and stopped playing in goal for the Black Dog in Weymouth in 1995.

Fuck me Luton's forum is as difficult to navigate as the CET news page. Not trying that again.

Match Thread Luton Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 26th Apr

I'd go to a 3 for this as well as the away leg of the semi should we make it (unless we're already behind from the home leg). Wilson (surely to god) Lati, Kitching, Binks (if still no Thomas) MVE, Sheaf, Grimes, Rudoni, Dasilva Wright, Simms/BTA/Bassette (pick one out of a hat and hope for the...

    Brad Collins

There is no way in a million years Lampard will be prioritising what it will do to Collins confidence if he's dropped over what is best for our play-off chances. He might well decide to stick with Collins but only if he thinks it will benefit the team in the here and now. The only possible...

100% agree with that. My point is whether or not a player who surely to god will never play for us again once dropped has his confidence destroyed is irrelevant. What makes us most likely to finish top 6 is all that FL has to consider.

So caring about a player is more important than reaching the play-offs? Fuck me I've heard it all.
