Match Thread Hull City - Coventry City Match Thread - Monday 14th Apr

And why is there one kit a year that we just never win in? That pisses me off, too.

That's pissed me off. Should have buried them, they were very poor. Only ourselves to blame.

That wasn't the most exciting half of football, but we should be winning on the balance of it. Despite the fact they've got almost nothing in attack, our defence really doesn't fill me with confidence.

Wasn't their first half of the season relegation form?

    Ridiculous…..

Possibly, but you'd think it would be worth waiting for a less thankless job, considering the state of them, and their impatience. I suppose you can't guarantee you're going to get offers, though, and he'd back himself.

    Ridiculous…..

Possibly at Stoke with their record of firing managers that might be true. A more sensible ownership would have realised they need a complete reset a while ago, as they've been rotten for a good few seasons now. I wouldn't be surprised if Robins got assurances that he'd be safe even if they...

    Championship thread 24/25!

They'd be thinking about how to stop it happening again, but there's zero chance they'd be 'shitting it'.

No they wouldn't. Not the team anyway.

That's my issue with them. You can understand trying to adopt that approach against stronger squads than yours, but when your opponents have far less resources than you, you shouldn't have to resort to it. I wonder if it's in anticipation of next season? They genuinely look no great shakes in...

    Ref again

I think if you need lines on the pitch to tell then it should be original decision. Your way would probably work better.

    Ref again

It's not inconsistency with offside, though, as it's not subjective. It's ability to judge it. I can accept a degree of leeway with offside.

Didn't watch or pay any attention to the World Cup, but that tech's exactly what I hate about technology use for offsides.

    Ref again

I want to avoid instances like the FA Cup semi at all costs. When you have a law like offside, then there is no subjectivity, as you are either off, or you are on. But when you bring technology into it, you are giving decisions where it is so marginal that it does not matter; millimetres. You...

    Hackney Fox

Nothing to add other than 'Knickerstitchers' is the best derogatory term for a football club and it's supporters ever. It's not used enough, in my view.

We were poor, though, but it doesn't matter at this stage. It just matters if you win or not.

MvE very good again. Thomas in the first half when they were attacking. Kitching had a good game and sometimes looked our most creative passer. Collins did everything asked of him well. What. A. Goal.

    Ref again

Missing the penalty was abysmal. Not in the same league of 'wtf' as the weekend, though. Though giving it to their goalie was weird when it hit him.
