    The Game of Your Life...

That's terrible, horrible. Can't imagine that, and I don't want to either, it's a case of not having the right word to do that kind of tragedy justice.

    Legendary Players

Let's try and share some magic on the legendary ones with this thread, so please try and post a video of your player. I'll start with this chap, Juan Roman Riquelme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OPwt7kVXtw Played mostly with Boca Juniors in his native Argentina, but dazzled the European...

    stocking filler for the kiddies

I bet the chapter in the book reads like this: "And thus, Santa graced the people of Wood End with his presence, majestically riding into the streets to be greeted by the curious sound of baseball bats clanking and youths shouting. Upon casting his eyes on the sight before him, he exclaimed...

    The Bridge 3

I got into The Bridge/Bron about a year ago, watched the first two series back to back non-stop; amazing, enthralling series. It delivers an astonishing level of originality and now-famous Scandinavian Noir. I was concerned that the absence of Martin Roedhe would spell the end for The Bridge...

    stocking filler for the kiddies

Did Father Christmas go through Wood End, in the book? Oh, the images that rush into one's mind.

    The Game of Your Life...

Not sure what to say, HH, but I imagine that 44 years on and it's probably still as clear in your mind today as it was back then? Unthinkable, really. I truly hope she didn't suffer, mate. This time of year always reminds me of a lad I used to play footy with: really nice boy who was immensely...

    John Fleck

Yes, a good bout of Fleckulating is required. I'll start. Oh that's it, oh fuck, he's leaving and that's our season over. Hear me, OVER! I've had enough and I don't know why! That a good start? :D

    Best Ever Christmas Match ?

When THAT goal went in, was anyone else expecting the ref or lino to disallow it simply 'cos it was a winner against Utd in the last minute? It was the 90's and refs usually only allowed Utd to grab a winner that late on, even if it meant adding injury time till they did score.

    John Fleck

He can graft and he loves the club, but I'd be surprised if TM sees Bigi as a like-for-like replacement for Fleck. The latter is more of a deep-lying playmaker, Bigi isn't. True, he's an asset, just not a replacement for Fleck, imo.

    So, Reice Charles Cooke...

Sorry, my mistake, my head's been fried after 5hrs at a friggin' steam railway surrounded by yodelling kids. I insist on it being my fault. ;)

    The Game of Your Life...

Yeah, I had a glimpse of a trial with Kidderminster when I was 17, the scout was keen and promised he'd be in touch. Nothing. Tried getting myself in the door of a few more non-league clubs, but nothing transpired. I stuck to Sunday League after that, just enjoyed my football and tried not to...

*Hands up* You quoted me there instead of Hadji10, you big tit. ;)

    John Fleck

It seems plausible, even though it's a rumour. It'd be a massive blow if he does leave, the Fleck/Vincelot partnership has been like concrete. Hate to say it, but I think if he does go and Bigi is his long-term replacement, Vincelot will have to carry him somewhat.

Next 3 games what you expecting?

I'd take 7 points, to make an allowance for another cacky draw. At least two wins is a must.

    So, Reice Charles Cooke...

Just because he didn't make howlers that led directly to goals, doesn't automatically make Burge a better keeper. Overall talent and skill isn't based like that, is it?

    The Game of Your Life...

Saying that, my 1/10 game (the definitive one) came in the same tournament at the Connection. I'd had to walk to the place from Hillfields on a hot summer evening and I was shagged before I got half way. Finally got there, (half pleased that I still had to play in goal as opposed to running my...

    So, Reice Charles Cooke...

All this to-ing and fro-ing is a bit redundant, until TM either decides to stick with RCC or bench him in favour of a January signing. No way will he drop RCC for Burge, even despite the recent spate of errors. TM will see beyond the errors and try to correct them in training, because RCC is...

    Vale fans view on game

Hopefully, fingers crossed for no further injuries, we'll be back to peak strength against Vale. Of course they're going to pack the midfield, stifle the attack and try and pinch a goal, it's inevitable. However, we should see a return to the attacking strategy that has served us well. No...

The futility of trying to police the world

Yep, I agree. However the agenda behind even venturing to Afghanistan in the first place is based on a necessity for 'commodities'. Sadly, I think the British forces sent were merely a smokescreen to the real agenda taking place. Only my opinion, mind.

    The Game of Your Life...

We were AC Wanderers, mate, only there for one summer 'cos it was a bastard getting lifts to and from the Connection. The only other teams I recall were Captain's Army and XTC4NRG (what a feckin' name). Good laugh up there though, apart from one arsehole team who had a really annoying lad...
