    Ryan Haynes

Micky Adams is Scottish?!? That's news to me! And seeing as he signed him for Brighton, he obviously wasn't that angry at Whing. Well, Whing may have dropped down into the lower divisions-but we're already there now! I think Haynes is more skillful than Whing was, but Whing was a better...

You don't think that his tactical awareness, motivational ability and player judgement wouldn't be able to improve our situation regardless of budget? I beg to differ! That contacts book would be worth a few decent loan deals rather than the "pot luck" selection that we get, too.

    Insider talk from today

My favourites were the rumours that Fox and Turner missed pre-season games because they were about to be sold and we didn't want to risk injuries. Hang on, those one's were true...

Agreed Stupot, I thought he was generally very honest and seems to read the game very well. More than you'd expect for a centre-back from Moor Green perhaps! Not sure that I agree with him about Mowbray, mind. I don't think experience in League 1 is needed if it's a manager who has achieved...

Anyone going to argue with John & alex

Or even the Championship side with Wise or under Black with Joachim and McSheffrey causing mayhem!

    Phil Babb

He was and the big move to Liverpool was probably partly off the back of that. I loved that Babb and Atherton partnership; from Bradford and Wigan respectively, but top quality in the highest division!

Anyone going to argue with John & alex

Agreed. I've always felt that what the club has been lacking is f.

If the club really wanted to show its intent

Ta. Nah, not for me, he's been patchy throughout his career in non-league. There are better candidates not beyond our reach-although Still sadly probably is, with Luton on the rise again.

If the club really wanted to show its intent

Oh, and John Still would be my dream choice. He'd sort us out and find us a couple of Premier League players playing parks football.

If the club really wanted to show its intent

Who is that, then? I'm wracking my brains trying to work it out!

    A fair appraisal.

Who feels like smashing things up?

Nah, Network is a class above Falling Down. Douglas alone guarantees that.

Ah, Network, a truly brilliant "lost classic" of a film!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGIY5Vyj4YM

And none of that "not celebrating against my old club" stuff from him, eh? I hope none of our fans clapped him. Torch wouldn't be happy :)

Just how stupidly close is this division? 7 points between 6th and 19th; by comparion, it's 20 points in the Championship, 17 in L2 and 21 in the Conference.

This post came at 0-0 after the red card. Sarcastic or not, you were right, great foresight!

    Stokes signs...

And how in FM, players who are "liked" by a manager will often re-sign for them (I hope Telfer was "liked" by Strachan in it...and Webster by Pressley!)

    Stokes signs...

Hayes reserves, was that? Look, we signed Hussey when he was the best LB in the Conference and he wasn't good enough. Signing someone who isn't in the top 10 LB's in the division isn't going to work! He's been signed by our new/next manager as one of his mates. Like Adams with Watson and...

    Stokes signs...

Ferdinand and Wright weren't reserves in non-league though, were they? It's quite extraordinary that a L1 club has signed a Conference sides reserve LB. I hope he does well, but I doubt that he will based on the simple fact that he can't get in a side 2 divisions below us!
