    Agbonlahor on loan?

Wouldn't want him, would you? Overrated from day one, abysmal attitude and work-rate. Bad news.

    Agbonlahor on loan?

Why stop at Ag-bang-the-whore and Adebayor? Word is, from the dog's cousin of Sky Blue Sam's twisted alter ego, Spiteful Sam, that we're in the running for Aguero... ...Houseman is his agent, so it's bound to be kosher - Aguero is just waiting for his Greek passport and it's a done deal.

    Our Defence

There we are, a perfectly feasible alternative. I'd go with that; Hunt LB, Ricketts RB, Ramage and Stokes CB. And then Lorentzson is fit, maybe shift Ricketts back over and drop Ramage.

    Our Defence

Well, I can only presume TM will be 'resting' Phillips for a while, however that leaves us short at the back yet again. Lorentzson is still not fit, neither is Willis. We need to either loan a right back, or see who's in the squad who can adeptly/adequately fill in. In either case, I'm a bit...

    Our Defence

TM is in a bit of a quandary with the defence, imo. Stokes looks better at CB, but then Haynes is not a left back. Phillips needs dropping, but who aside from Ricketts can do a job at RB?

    Our Defence

Ok, we know we've suffered hideous luck with defensive injuries in recent months, but where is it going wrong at the back? What can be changed? More importantly, what can be done to shore the defence up and cut out these frustrating, points-costing errors? The obvious answer is to drop...

    Burton

I agree, my dear Groucho. :D I wasn't there, but I usually take your appraisals as gospel. We still have to remember, despite how promising we've been at times this season, that TM is not a miracle worker. We've had glimpses of what this team is capable of when it's firing on all cylinders, it...

Disappointing, but still in our hands

This is all pretty much spot on, mate, however a lot hinges on the signings making an impact; if they offer little, we may struggle to secure a play-off place. All we can do is wait and see. But all of this scapegoating on here I.E. blaming every player for this and that, is terribly unproductive.

Moaning about the little things in life

Whinging is part of our culture, these days. It's something we have successfully assimilated from our American cousins over the pond. In fact, I once knew an American and she would whine and gripe over ANYTHING. It bordered on pedantic, tbh.

Odd-Looking Music Prodigy from the CET

To be fair, the lad looks a tad loopy...could be the next Keith Flint, on the piano.

    Burton

But then people defending this makeshift back four, and the team, are the ones saying the auto's are still within reach?! Not a chance at this rate, I'm afraid. That's just a realistic appraisal, not pessimism. We've made light years of progress under TM, however I think the play-offs is far...

    Murphy

    Either way, it's disconcerting.

    Murphy

Seems to me, when Murphy plays well, so do the whole forward line. This shows how crucial he is, despite his multitude of form lapses.

    Charlie Austin to southampton

If he has a run of good form for Saints, gets a decent goals to games average, I guarantee you'll see the likes of Liverpool and the other big boys offering three times as much for him. Personally, I think he'll do well in the PL. £4 million is a snip compared to some inflated fees.

    Phillips

Yup, they have to earn their BJ's. Phillips is never getting one again, not from me anyway. ;)

    Wrong team choices today !

They're a capable team, yes? So really, they managed to capitalise on two errors and stonewalled us in order to win. That's the difference between us and them, the unity and confidence to take their chances and shut up shop. Even without playing well, they brushed us aside. It just highlights...

    Hunt, Rose, Lorentzson.......

Fleck is probably off, tbh. Whether Rose is a replacement, I dunno, he doesn't seem like a ball-playing DM. I really want to see Lorentzson and Hunt fit and performing.

    Wrong team choices today !

At the minute, TM is a bit stuck with choices for fullbacks. Phillips is just not working, so I'll be over the moon when we get Lorentzson in there. Bit of experience, bit of drive, bit of awareness. Burton are just a better team than us, they're full of confidence of team spirit.

    Burton Albion (Home) Match Thread

I can understand the Bigi negativity; he seems to just lose possession and slow the pace down. Seems pointless having him if he's not contributing positively. Can't see how anyone can knock Stokes, tbh. Mr Reliable, 99.99% of the time.

Freefall?! You've certainly got a flair for drama, mate. I'd hardly call dropping 3 places into 4th, over the space of 7-ish weeks a "freefall". :thinking about:
