    Transfer Rumour Matt Godden

Would be surprised if we splashed half a million on a player who we'd be unlikely to sell on for a profit in future. Having said that, he's half decent at L1 level. Good in the air, good positional sense. Not the fastest and a bit one-footed though. Posh chairman will probably say that...

    New attacking targets.

Maybe he would prepared to drop a division to get more game time - wages possibly more of a stumbling block. If he was a loan signing, I wonder how much the parent club would contribute to them? Surprised another Championship side has not signed him already (don't know if he was injured last...

    New attacking targets.

As a loan signing he'd be good for us - he's decent in the air for a start. At 28 he's probably too old for us to sign permanently in the hope that his value will increase for re-sale though.

Most stupid comments you expect to hear at games this season

'He's got the touch of a rapist' Heard that several times at Swindon game - both about their players and ours.

    Bayliss off?

Am a bit taken aback by doom and gloom on here... Bit of an over-reaction to missing out on Tyler Walker. MR has a half decent record at recruiting strikers (both in his 1st and current spell). He will get someone genuinely useful in by end of August I'm sure. As for Bayliss, I'm surprised...

    Tyler Walker deal done???

Unlike some on here, I think this is more about bad luck (i.e. Forest's change of manager) than bad handling on our part. I think MR and Chris Badlan will have other strikers in mind. Not that worried if we get someone in for Saturday or not - but we certainly need someone in before end of August.

1 - 1 Think we will outplay them for long spells though.

Forgot to say, thought Pask looked excellent when he came on... He will be a valuable asset for us off the bench if Hyam / McFadzean are struggling against a pacy striker.

I thought Shipley was not that effective today, but what pleased me was how often he got into the box in the 2nd half - he will score a reasonable number of goals this season.

Thoughts on game: Allen presses the opposition very well up the field, works tirelessly and composed on the ball. Defensively we were a bit lucky at times - think our lack of pace through the middle will cost a few goals. Jobello whipped in a few decent low crosses across the box which a goal...

    Transfer Rumour Bids for Chaplin

I agree that Robins probably didn't plan to sell him this summer, but I reckon the recruitment team have thought about different possible scenarios already. Chris Badlan and Dave Boddy seem very on the ball and I bet there has been a lot of talk about who Robins could get after Barnsley's...

    Hiwula

In pre-season it's easy to overestimate the abilities of new players and underestimate what we have already got... If he gets as many games as last year, I think Hiwula could get 15 goals or so. I think Robins is going to set us up for quick counter attacks away from home: Hiwula's pace is an...

I know what you mean Otis, I haven't got rose-tinted specs (the lack of legroom at Highfield Road was awful in the West Terrace for example). However, I used to love walking from the station and drinking at pubs progressively closer to the ground. For me, the matchday experience is not just...

Though I am not as 'senior' as you (!), I completely agree. The Ricoh is a completely soulless bowl; will never be 'home' in my eyes. I am re-locating to Devon in the summer: I will go to more games at St Andrews than I would have at the Ricoh. I feel very sorry for CCFC fans in Coventry, but as...

Lock us out starve them out

Great idea: lawful protest that would really piss their supporters off and potentially disrupt their games!

    Goalkeeper

Going back to original post... Have spoken to several Bristol City fans... who are relieved that Frank Fielding is off their books. Decent shot stopper, not good at taking crosses at all, according to them. Never seen him play myself, but from what others are saying he doesn't sound like...

    Substitutions

Sylus, I agree with you regarding pushing Hiwula out on the left. He clearly isn't comfortable there and is possibly the most natural finisher we've got. I wonder if Chaplin would be worth starting on the left? Though I like Shipley's workrate I reckon he is a L2 player, not L1. If we see...
