Match Thread Grimsby Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

Yes, 86 points would have got promotion in 10 of the last 11 years

Yes it was meant as a joke really

Match Thread Grimsby Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 12th Aug

Yes, we won't win every game obviously, but I believe we should be capeable of beating anyone in this league home or away.

Which is how most teams win leagues / get promotion. Having a 20 goal striker does not guarantee you anything as has been said many times. Goals need to come from right across the whole squad. I would say we now have at least 4 players, maybe 5 who can all get close to, or into double figures...

Its strange really, the very strategy that got us relegated, is now probably going to get us promoted. TM & MV going for higher division players last summer (unsuccessfully) is being done right by MR

    2nd Signing - Duckens Nazon

Yes, I think Nazon joined Wolves on a short contract initially earlier this year, almost like a trialist really. I think they would have had him watched on Tuesday and signed in up quick on a longer term contract

    2nd Signing - Duckens Nazon

Yes, hopefully good enough to tear L2 apart but not quite good enough for Wolves 1st team this season. Similar to Armstrong, in the right circumstances it may prove the best move to leave him here for the season.

    2nd Signing - Duckens Nazon

Good news, I think, that he has signed a new contract with Wolves. Hopefully now if he does well and we are in contention he will stay until the end of the season.

Is that our transfers finished now?

I would be very surprised if Duckens is costing us much

    Grimsby

Grimsby had a good win today against a team that are likely to finish in the bottom half of the division. Can't see Grimsby posing a serious play-off challenge, so don't fear them at all.

Match Thread Liverpool u23 Match Thread (2.30PM Kick-Off Saturday)

Liverpool u23 are a strong team, they finished 3rd in their league last season. George, Whelan, Virtue, Brannigan, Gomes are all regulars in the team. I would think they are at least L1 standard. Look at some of their results England - Liverpool Under 23 - Results, fixtures, squad, statistics...
