It’s amazing how fast you can run when a mob are after you 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

[ Quite agree, no thought given to it and just asking for problems. Most fans act responsibly but you’ll always get the few that don’t.

    Scariest time at a ground.

I’ve experienced some great times following the Skyblues all around the country but also had a few hairy moments. The 1970’s particularly springs to mind, a time when you had to be aware of what was going on around you, away fans were always seen as fair game for the local yobs. I remember...

I suppose the thinking is we start with a point and a clean sheet and if we finish with that then fair enough.

Christmas Quiz Results - And the Winner!

Great quiz Grendel and congrats to Razzle Dazzle, the only one I didn’t get was the goalkeeper but I don’t feel too bad about that now because how anyone made that connection is beyond me.

    George Hudson passed away

That is a truly brilliant story, my condolences to Georges family.

    George Hudson passed away

They can have it, after all they did sell us Bill Glazier (even though it was a world record fee for a goalkeeper at the time.)

    Match Thread Preston

This’ll be a tight game with not much between the teams. We seem to be setting up not to lose rather than going all out to win. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another 0-0 but what do I know so we’ll probably win convincingly.
  12. Oh for an Ian Gibson.

    George Hudson passed away

Being a Skyblues fan in the 60’s was indeed a magical experience, the whole City seemed to be behind our team. Jimmy Hill had got the team winning, the car factories offered well paid employment and Coventry was the place to be. I well remember the star hat badges, rattles turning to Dave...

    George Hudson passed away

George will always be an idol to supporters of my generation. I was fortunate to see his debut hat trick and the never to be forgotten goal v Southampton. So sad to read of his passing but he’ll never be forgotten.

    Transfer Rumour Mario Mandzukic?

I thought he did sign but was sold on a couple of days later before even playing a game, for a decent profit.

Favourite Ever Cov City Player ?

I was at Highbury that day and can confirm what an amazing goal that was, the ball seemed to be tied to Tommys feet as he beat one player after another. The shame is that I don’t think any footage exists of it.

Match Thread Sky Blues v Boro (double header)?

I’m assuming this will give both clubs the opportunity to give all the squad a full 90 minutes as the start of the season gets nearer.

Early Season - how do we think it will go ?

Worrying that we may not have Dabo and Rose available for the start of the season however it may well provide opportunities for others to step up. We’re looking a little short on Championship quality strikers but I’m hoping that this will be addressed during this transfer window, if it is we’ll...

Favourite Ever Cov City Player ?

I certainly was, the game described as the Midlands game of the century and in my opinion the most memorable league game in our history. Arrived at the ground midday in an attempt to get a position at the front on the wall. As the congestion built up us young kids were passed over the heads of...

Favourite Ever Cov City Player ?

I’ve many great memories of those days, my dad also no longer with us was responsible for starting my lifetime love affair with the bantams (the days before we became the skyblues). The smell of pipe smoke and the stamping of feet on the wooden floor of the old main stand. My favourites of that...

Favourite Ever Cov City Player ?

As a wide eyed 6 year old taken to Highfield Road by my dad in 1960 my first hero was Ron Hewitt but my all time favourite has to be the magician that was Ian Gibson. I had the pleasure of meeting Gibbo at an open day at Highfield Road and was in absolute awe.
