Yea, I meant in a league.

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

Any phoenix club couldn't start playing league football until August 2014, so there is plenty of time to see how things pan out over the next few months, and then if the idea of a phoenix club seems appropriate, there is still time to set it up properly in time for next year. We need to see how...

Great post, totally agree. Wonder what the Sky Blue Trust will do if we do go to Northampton, their backing for your idea would be really helpful

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

weren't there 4 bidders for CCFC Ltd, SISU, Haskell and two others who I don't think have been named. Wonder who they were and if they were serious. I think potential buyers are put off by knowing they will have to deal with SISU, whose difficult to deal with reputation is by now well known.

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

This has been an excellent thread, proper discussion, some great ideas from our friend from Bradford. Obviously, a Phoenix club would have to be funded, I wonder if an approach to Gary Hoffman or Joe Elliott would be useful. I know Saltaire is in favour of acting quickly, but I think it is too...

Of course there is a connection, prior to 1962, we were the Bantams !

    Coventry ground

I think that there are already 3 teams using the Butts, Cov Rugby, Cov Bears RL and the American Football Team, surely the pitch couldn't be anything like acceptable for football ?

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

At any rate, anyone wanting to set up a phoenix club is now too late for 2013-14, so it gives plenty of time to see what happens over the next few months, to see if we actually do go to Northampton, and gauge what the mood of the fans is after a few months, what the results are like, how the...

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

Agreed, it depends what you want the Phoenix club to be. If you want it to progress through the leagues, there will, as you say, have to be some outside investment. I think PH4's interest from a money making point is the surrounding land, that does not have to create debt for the football club...

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

Supported by PH4, the money you quote would be small change. However, I would expect PH4 to buy into ACL, in which case the deal would be different. A couple of promotions would see the crowds increase, whilst the SISU club will only decline, unless SISU change their ways.

I talked to B.C.F.A re. phoenix club.

I wonder whether a phoenix club would be supported by PH4, Hoffman and Elliott. If so, why not play at the Ricoh with sensible ticket prices and a properly run club. PH4 could then proceed with his development plans, and possibly be in on the start of something big. This would also end any...

Think that's the same league that Coventry United are starting out in August ?

Why should Coventry Bees and the very well supported Stock Car Racing be sacrificed to build Tim's Shed aka Stade de SISU

    Protest at Football League Headquarters

We do actually have a Coventry City London Supporters Club. Haven't heard much from them on the situation the Club is in. Maybe they should organise this ?

    Northampton chairman

David, As a loyal Coventry City supporter of some 57 years standing, I am very concerned at the recent developments at our club. I would caution you not to have any dealings with SISU/Otium. They have already defaulted on the rent due at the Ricoh Arena. I am sure that if you contact ACL...

    a silly question..,

If we start off at the Ricoh as you mention, and then, as expected come out of Admin in SISU/Otium's favour, this would make things awkward for SISU, having to play all season at a ground they said they had left for good ? Why do I always think that SISU will some way have this covered ?

    Trust Meeting with Football Laegue

Although the FL may end up endorsing SISU, at least is shows they are taking our situation seriously, which is a positive thing. I am sure the FL's lawyers are figuring out what would happen if they reject SISU/Otium. What the legal backlash would be and can they defend it. Sooner or later the...

Tim fisher Coventry City Closing in on Deal for New Stadium

He said much the same 3 weeks ago, so it sounds like they are not much further on.

No FL ruling for AT LEAST a month!

This delay will have the effect of putting SISU/Otium's ground share/new stadium plans on hold and may force Appleton to do an emergency deal with ACL to play at the Ricoh. I would guess the FL would be looking at a season long deal. What effect would this have on the FL's final decision ? If...
