Have a brownie point (Y) Life isn't that serious. Man's just singing praises for the much maligned Excel and we have some next wannabe barristers and poet laureates jumping in trying to scrutinise my words😅

Ok, cool story. I forgot that this a General Chat forum where people can define the semantics rather loosely, rather than a developer community.

Well it's true. Excel can achieve most of the more advanced things required for business, albeit less efficiently than other programmes. It's looked down upon because 'everyone can do it', or at least most Office workers can. Only when we speak of AI and Machine Learning (which this isn't) are...

I always thought Excel was underrated compared to all of the new up and coming coding languages like SQL, VBA, Python etc, but then when you spend billions on something, I suppose Microsoft Office products don't do the trick!

Feel like Hamer is going to cost us a lot over the year, not for footballing ability but because of his discipline (or lack thereof).

    Match Thread Bournemouth Match Thread

It was clear throughout the first half how much of a technical gulf there was between a Prem relegated and a League One promoted team, with clear international pedigree (albeit at mostly youth level) among Bournemouth's ranks.

    Forgotten Trialists and Signings

No, I mentioned the under 23s because he scored in a 23s game at Nuneaton back in September 2013 and all of the other 23s players were doing this "We love the Manset" malarkey around him. I'm aware he had league experience and scored for us against Preston, and the despite doing well in a couple...

    Forgotten Trialists and Signings

Mathieu Manset. He was supposed to be the next big thing and did well in the under 23s. As we know, performance in the under 23s does not necessarily correlate with first team success !

I think everybody agrees on the impact of going from around £30000 to £5000 per year per head for a large section of the population. It's more about how the monies used to support people are distributed. Too many were left out of the furlough so it had a really differential impact. Not the...

    Fankaty Dabo

Last season much of our play was based around that distinctive pass from the right into the midfield to someone like Walsh, and then Dabo receiving the ball back and getting us further up the pitch. Tonight he showed that he can take that a step further and dribble up the pitch. Hamer is a...

Agreed, I take back the literal statement :) Annoying how we have a situation where it has to be like that - in an ideal world the service would work and I wouldn't be scapegoating these people who clearly have very little to do. As above, yep. Resources going where they should not be going and...

Worst thing about these people is that they get paid for standing around doing nothing, so they have no incentive to use their discretion. Its typical of all kinds of compliance officers - they just push the problem away so they don't have to do anything.

    How many points for safety?

I tend to think a point a game is good enough for any league however, it seems in the Championship there is an added layer of competitiveness, which makes even 50 points precarious. So 51 points.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I think that's the crux of the issue and is why targeted support is necessary. Jobs that cannot be done from home but should conceivably still exist when things are 'normal' again e.g. in hospitality, tourism and leisure should be kept on furlough. Office workers should have furlough removed...

    Last Season

I think even better is the fact that we have really built up a solid squad during pre season. All thanks to Robins really - since he's come in for his second spell , there has not been a summer without decent recruitment. Whereas I can remember every summer between 2006 - 2016 being either hit...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Thinking about it, I do worry about the potential plight of those in sectors such as manufacturing which are rightly considered very highly skilled; but where the training for such jobs is so specific that people may find it hard to get a job elsewhere. The government has rightly promoted...
