Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

There is a rational accusation, we're just not sure if it's a true one. The suggestion, absolutely unproven, is that the council may have given Ashley the inside track on the administration of Wasps/ACL by tipping him off early. My question is, if it is true, is it an acceptable way for the...

Possibly a bit late for you now, CD, but did you consider legal action against them? Surely that's malpractice.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I'm not upset, but I'm entirely skeptical. Only the extremely naive, with all due respect, would take what the council say at face value. What you seem to saying is that it would be ok for the council to act against the club's owners, presumably because they're SISU. Or have I misunderstood...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

It's not moot if the Council actively sought to scupper a possible competing bid is it? Whether SISU could have pulled it off or not is irrelevant, it's appalling conduct if it happened. The council may well not like SISU, not many of us do either, but that doesn't give them the right to...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

My concern isn't whether or not SISU's bid would have succeeded, it almost certainly wouldn't imho. My concern is, did the Council try to do something to make sure SISU couldn't win. A bit of early insider information to Ashley and a helpful introduction to Wasps certainly wouldn't have hurt...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Who knows mate, obviously not if they wanted Ashley to win though. I was much happier when it looked like the Council weren't involved at all, because to me that would be the proper process. However there seems to be the clear suggestion that they have been sticking their oar in again, which...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Which would be fair enough, except there seems to be the suggestion that Ashley's "horse" had an eight week head start courtesy of being tipped off by the council that ACL were heading for administration (well before the NOI). That may be completely made up of course, but the Council does have...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Again, I'm not saying the council have screwed SISU, or at least I wasn't. I'm just interested in exactly what they have done here. But if you're saying that the Council gave advance notice to Ashley about ACL going into adminstration and didn't tell SISU, this so that Ashley got an advantage...

    Has London Bridge fallen ?

I dunno mate, even as a leftie republican I still think chucking eggs at the bloke is a pretty crappy thing to do. No argument from me about the growing inequality in the country, but I'm not sure how this progresses that resolution. Just mho, Pete, obviously.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I'm not saying the Council have screwed us over. This time. But at the risk of sounding like a certain other boringly repetitive poster who just can't bring himself to hate Wasps 🙂, I'm just trying to understand their input into a process that from where I sit has nothing directly to do with...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Not quite seeing your point, FP, and not wishing to pick a row either. Again though, what difference does a "reasonable period" make? The point I'm trying to make, I suppose, is that if the administrator had chosen a bid from SISU, or indeed anyone else that the Council didn't like, what power...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

A freeholder cannot reasonably deny assignment of a lease. That's the law. And in this case, the lease remains with ACL anyway doesn't it. Are you sure this 'permission' angle isn't being overplayed?

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

If MA's got half a brain and wants the Council onside, he'll promise them the moon on a stick if they ask for it. They didn't keep Wasps to a single one of their promises, why would this be any different. Watch now for the Council hoovering up the glory when the bid goes through, "we got the...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

The bondholders have a mortgage on the ACL lease, the council do not have an option to revert it back to themselves unless they want to get drawn into yet another legal battle. It's not that simple.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I think it's even simpler than that OSB, I don't think SISU have got anywhere near sufficient funds to buy ACL out of admin (especially once any kind of serious bidder arrived). Short of being gifted the stadium, they were never really interested. Just mho of course. As for the Council, I'd...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

But ACL is not owned by the Council. They are the freeholder, they don't own the business. So again, how do they influence what's going on with the administration process? It looks like they are from what Boddy is saying, but how?

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Genuinely mystified. I still don't get what the Council have got to do with it. They don't own the arena. What could Reeves have actually done? I'm not saying that Boddy is lying, btw, I just really can't see their input here. I've no problem with being proven wrong on this, but frankly...

What a goal. Reminded me of big Cyrille... Pull the ball in, roll the defender, outpace them, then hammer it past the keeper. Unplayable. Hamer seems like a changed man too; far more focused on the creative stuff, a lot less time on the pointless needle. Robins has to get some credit for that...
