Thought it was a loan until his contract expired. I’ve checked and you’re right. Fair enough. Seems even more mad. Waste of money at this stage.

Surely as an established Champ player we are paying decent wages / contribution. He’s behind a player that when everyone is fit doesn’t automatically get into our u21/23 team. In which case send him (Mcg) back and pay for the blood / saliva analysis capabilities that MR keeps banging on...

Brave team selection by bring in Howley. Side notes say 442 but it does look like a more natural 3 at back 2 WB 3 MF 2 ST Maybe it’ll switch up as the match goes on.

    How much wage here?

You don’t need £50m. Just don’t go wasting big money wages and signing on fees for 31 year olds on longish deals like Waghorn. Invest in youngish talent and take punts on McCallum types. If you risk in those you can only lose small and win big. You’ll never win big with a Waghorn type.

    Preston ratings

MR in his full pre match interview seemed to allude that many players (not just us) are getting injured for some unknown reason. 3.30 mins to about 4.30mins “——(about soft tissue and joint injuries) something going on effecting physical health” What was he alluding to? Long Covid? Vaccine side...

I totally understand the notion of keeping our best CDM at CDM, but unless we play 2 up we don’t have any AM options who have ever scored (might be wrong). If Hudds mark Gyok out of the game, who is our scoring threat? Allen got into great positions and if he had more confidence/ability would...

How many fit at our club are better than Hamer in an attacking midfield role. You can’t answer old fella. Stick to bingo.

Well, I’m inclined to disagree. I’m not going to ridicule playing 3 up top, but I don’t think it’s a sensible alternative. Hudlin scored again for Hudds B this week. Genuinely worried that Waghorn will be out of the squad due to loan agreement and Warnock puts him as a striker option on the...

What are the attributes of an attacking midfielder? Being able to receive, anticipate, pass, dribble, run, shoot? You saying he can’t do that? He’s clearly capable of playing there. I’d argue far better than any other player at the club IMO.

He was awarded goal of the month in February for his earlier goal v Hudds (which might have been end Jan?). He had the Huddersfield defenders on toast by skipping into the box. Anyway, point still stands: Name a better player fit at the club who could play AM? Of course, there isn’t one...

Hamer is the best CDM at the club. He’s unfortunately, also the best attacking midfielder fit at the moment. In an advanced position he can do things like, I dunno, score the February goal of the month.

How about this: Wilson McNally Fadz Doyle CBS BNC Bidwell WBS Dabo Eccles CDMs Hamer Maguire AMs * Gyok ——- Back 5 standard Dabo: Is a wildcard suggestion, moving him from RWB to CDM might work. He’s no Hamer (who used to be a RWB) but these are challenging times. 2 years ago I would have...

    How much wage here?

Waghorn £13K (I’m sure SBB said this) Walker £10k Kane £4k (we are probably getting £4K contribution Charlton to make his 8k) Dacosta £5K Dabo £5K Kelly £10k Bapaga £1k Maguire £5k £53k plus any NI / appearance bonuses. £60k week? Give it all to Vik. (Only kinda joking) Edit: someone did...

    Gyokeres fee

That’s similar to the Bereton-Diaz situation, no? Hate to say it but this is where having a Mike Ashley type owner who could afford to say “Alright Viktor, we will match the £5m as a signing on fee and the wages. Here’s clause about injuries and insurance.” That way, it’ll cost us £5m plus £6m...

    Gyokeres fee

It’s a question of strategy: Offer Vik a contract worth (fag packet) £5m over 3 years or let him go for £10m less than his “real” value.
