As an unashamed footballer lover I benefit from the fact that matches are on at different times / days. I can still watch Cov and get my share of premier league matches too ( albeit on tv ) My winter Sundays would not be the same now without the TV matches. We can’t have it both ways .

That’s not my recollection of him. I think he had a money ball approach ahead of time which the investors initially supported and then stopped. My criticism of him would be one of self interest but i don’t think his strategy was wrong. It’s been copied many times since.
