Fair enough. The last short a*** midfielder that I can recall that started off as a wing back / full back was Gus Hamer. Sometimes these things work.

Again, agree MVE is being run into the ground. Eccles can cover this as well as Lati. I’m not sure if Lati would link as well with Tats, though. Doesn’t Lati play internationally as a CDM or have I made that up?

I genuinely believed he played defensive midfield for Swansea.

I agree on this. With 2 CB and attacking full backs you need your CDM to drop back and cover CD or RB or LB or whatever. Sheaf and Eccles can’t cover as defenders so well. Hence my mad suggestion of Lati in front of 2 CB as either an advanced CD in a 5 man defence or CDM in front of a 4.

You may well be right, I just remember watching him and he seemed to play running at the defence from deep rather than on the shoulder / as a target man “Regis” (who comes to mind when playing WBA) type number 9. IE Regis was a lead the line 9, BTA a gets the ball and run at. I’ve seen him play...

He’s played there before quite often (CDM) in his career. Obviously it’s not ideal but we are currently hovering above the relegation zone and have just conceded 2 goals where a decent CDM should have closed down. Given that we’ve got zero players who can play CDM really then who else...

I like Sheaf but agree that he doesn’t protect the back 4. He’s not a tough tackling midfielder.

Dabo, before his hips were f’d was a great player. At a time when we had a midfield with the combined strength of Shipley, Allen (Westbrooke?) and a 21 year old skinny Sheaf and were being over-run / Sheaf used to dither and get dispossessed then Fanky might have done a job there. But I...

Yep, totally mad to put a player who scored 12 in the Champ last year from a deep striker / running 8 role in that position and the only midfield that we have with any bottle in.

Yes, I can see why you’d think that. It does look mad right now. ATM we have 4 similar players in midfield who don’t seem to gel and 3 of whom have been starting together of late. Torp, Sheaf, Rudoni and Eccles are all “ok”, Sheaf on his day is the best passer and Rudoni the must creative...

Collins 5 Maybe the goals weren’t his fault but I’ve seen keepers regularly tip shots like the second goal around the post fairly often. He doesn’t command and his speed and awareness of distribution is poor. There’s lots made of our XG and often opposition keepers pull great saves off. Our...

We need voter ID and better election rules: Eg, I spent £3 to ensure Corbyn became Labour leader.

I’ve read a lot of opinions on here. Some that I struggle with: “Voter ID shouldn’t be required” (but should be for driving, buying alcohol, getting a bank account hiring a bike, claiming benefits, renting a house, buying a house, (living generally)). “Because….BAME people….disabled...

I don’t think you’ve taken any of the points on board, which is a shame. Real wisdom will come from examining a situation from another viewpoint, as I have. Work on those things, mindfulness is a gift.

Ok. Some nuance: 2000 Gore V Bush. The race was so close it came down to one state, Florida. Bush was declared winner eventually by about 500 votes and crucially, Gore conceded. In the post-analysis, there were about 600 late / unsigned / incorrect ballots that were for Bush that should have...

Did you really just say that you’re not sure why immigrants are voting at all? That’s racist with a shiny badge. Legal immigrants, of course, should be able to vote. And then something which is dog-whistle “BAME people not capable of getting ID”. Used to think you were ok, Shmmeee...

Are you sure you are being rational? Legal immigrants, will, almost by absolute definition, have ID. Where’s your point caller?

The alcohol laws are racist. The smoking laws are racist. Having a bank account is racist. Needing ID to buy paracetamol is racism and anything that requires ID is basically Nazi. It’s a “Call anyone you disagree with a racist” game and it no longer works. The follow up “tiny brain” comment is...
