Trump has openly declared against Google. Why would they want Thor profit centre back to a place under his control? Is he going to send them chocolate unicorns or hammer them. What do you think they think? Anyway, I don’t want to get bogged down in lefty nit picky stuff.

Even easier for you, the tariff / tax probabilities and outcomes are to a degree subjective and I’ve got better things to do.

Google based in Eire can supply into the EU tariff free (effectively- not that straightforward but anyway) Google based in the US and supplying into the EU will leave them open to tariffs / fines etc. Indeed, the EU showed their intent by hammering Apple and Google recently.

https://amp.theguardian.com/business/2024/nov/25/ireland-prices-corporation-tax-loss-from-trump-policies-at-10bn The more intelligent on this thread might deduce (from this Guardian article) that Google et al didn’t want Trump. I really don’t need to explain why do I (perhaps I do for the...

Passing Backwards and Going the Same Way

Yes, that’s the point I’m trying to make. Kinda, The “crisp two pass around the press” is great but then the third pass….. Player has a choice: Incisive ball with risk that has 70% chance of being “a successful pass” in their individual score card on their “deck” or Easy ball sidewards /...

That’s great. Not sure what your point is other than something about the super rich being evil. Look, hiking the tax rates up on “super rich” corporations sometimes has a negative effect Closer to home, Ireland has more favourable tax rates than the UK. As a direct result, Google, MS and...

And btw, I’m in no way advocating tax evasion - just being a realist and pointing out hypocrisy. Bringing the debate back to subject, Trump; it was Trump who advocated dropping the tax on tips rule - quite possibly in light of the above. The issue is the line between nominal amount and tax...

I find it amazing that those who say we should never turn a blind eye to people trying to avoid any little bit of tax say we should turn a blind eye to voter fraud. Binman (sorry, refuse collection person) can’t stick a few tenners in their pocket at Xmas that are given to them by a...

The Tories took their “base” for granted. The “super rich”, unfortunately ,can pretty much choose where to pay their taxes. It’s better to get a small percentage of a lot, than a bigger percentage of nothing. The “rich” and aspirational class have been hit hardest.

Yes, the Tories f-d up the final few years. I’m a Tory office-holder and will tell you, absolutely, that ridiculous and embarrassing decisions have been made that make ordinary conservatives sick to the stomach. Covid is a partial excuse but throwing money around like confetti was short...

Absolutely. But where voter ID is available (absolutely) free of charge (ie, no stamp, no envelopes etc) then this freely available ID should be required. Glad that’s cleared up.

Passing Backwards and Going the Same Way

It might just be me but England under Southgate became boring with constantly passing backwards. No one wanted to lose the ball or try anything daring. Since the various spreadsheet analysis team came in to CCFC a year or so ago we seem to have become a lot more constrained and likely to pass...
