    Lampard red card

Again, without trying to bang on about it, how could he have control of the ball when it's hammered at him from a short distance and he's on his knees? If he doesn't have control, then by definition it can't be deliberately played. I wonder if it's more likely that the linesman thought they...

    Death List 2025

Awesome drummer. Absolutely drove the sound that Blondie made, imho. The lad is learning the drums (thank God for electronic kits!). I put on Union City Blues the other day, and told him when he could play like that, he's made it. 😁 (See also, Neil Peart, Rush, probably less to your taste...

    Lampard red card

I don't think by any reasonable criteria anyone could claim that the defender had control of the ball. It's a shot from a short distance away, with the ball moving quickly, and with little time to coordinate movement. The bloke's on his knees, it's rather hard to control a ball from that...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

ONS data, 2024... Goods and services... Exports to the EU, 2024, 346.1 billion. Exports to the US, 2024, 182.6 billion. Therefore, by any definition, we export more to the EU than to the US. When you look at imports and exports, we trade more with the EU than the US. Why you can't grasp...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Just for clarity, these aren't reciprocal tariffs, that's straight up Trump bullshit. Trump's tariffs are based on the trade imbalance between the US and the countries involved. (Excepting Russia of course, which also runs a substantial trade imbalance in normal times but is exempted from...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It's a bit rich accusing someone else of going off on a tangent when you're seemingly busting a gut to avoid the question and just repeating yourself on how it helped getting him elected. Do you believe in the rule of law or not? Do you honestly believe that Trump didn't have a case to answer...

No tariffs on Russia. Just to make it completely clear whose side Trump is on. So it's nice and easy for everyone now. Support Trump, support Putin

They weren't all civil cases, see link below. Regardless, you're going to say that anyone standing for potential election should not be able to be prosecuted? And where's your evidence of the courts' electoral interference: I've listed the cases, which one do you think was based on falsehoods...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

"Lawfare"? Either you believe in the rule of law, or you don't. If you want your far right zealots to stay out of court, maybe pick ones who don't commit crimes. Which court cases, specifically, were unfair. The sex pest one? The one where his company committed fraud? The one where he had...

Match Thread Sheffield United - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 28th Mar

Agreed. And sometimes he looks like he's playing in flippers he's found at the bottom of the canal! Got to get it in the box for him, that's his strength, but we're just so, so slow at doing it in some games.

Good reality check. The difference between a team attacking with intent, and one going through the motions.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It's always worth thinking about what these seemingly abstract cuts mean to people's lives at the bottom of the pile... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/mar/23/social-care-cuts-benefits-disability-labour-whitehall In the meantime, there's seemingly no plan to redistribute from...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

By the rational metric of increasing austerity and drastically cutting welfare, which Labour government in living memory has done that? Which one literally took on Tory financial dogma and welfare policy? It's a really poor defence this, do you think voters who see nothing getting better are...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Come on mate, are you really pretending that this Labour party is somehow left leaning? On what evidence? This "Labour" party has adopted Tory fiscal policy and now their welfare policy too. They are literally cutting benefits to the old, disabled, and unemployed. They are actively hobbling...

    DIY-ing

Duct tape. I'd probably go with black to align with the decor, but you could get the silver stuff instead and make it a "feature". DIY rules are dead simple... If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, WD-40. 😄

    Baseball Ground

I'm sure it felt like I spent my entire (undistinguished) Sunday league career playing uphill and against the wind. I just can't figure out how it always happened both halves. 😁 Quite a few older grounds ended up with a 'crown' in the middle, didn't they? I thought it was because the centre of...

On the upside, MVE and Sakamoto are back on it. Thomas looks a proper attacking threat and is finding some superb passes. And.... err... I always liked Eustace when he played for us. Bidwell, bless him, comedy gold. If he doesn't spill a drink all down his front on the coach home, I'll be amazed.
