    Clive Eakin on CWR

It's the BBC mate, so it'll be RP. I think they picked it up off the late Queen, it was one of her favourite phrases.

In truth mate, I'm not quite as confident as you, either in our ability to break them down if we play the same way, or that we won't concede again on the counter. But I sincerely hope you're right and I'm wrong, that would make all of us very happy. 🙂

Nothing I'd argue with here, except that to me "anti-football" is this idea that possession is all that matters. There's literally nothing more anti-football to me, than having possession of the ball in the opposition third, and it somehow ending up with it being passed back to your centre half...

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 13th May

Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity, isn't it? Personally, I'd be amazed if Sunderland don't set up in exactly the same way. Low block, quick counter attack, plenty of time wasting and trying to break the game up. Their fans won't 'demand'...

I think it was because of the level of frustration at Wright, and in general mate. A fit EMC offers a lot more than Wright in that position, imho. Whether Wright offers more than Simms down the middle is one I'm genuinely not sure about, neither is looking great at the moment.

We've had more possession, the better side is usually the one that scores the most goals, I'd say. That doesn't look like us at the moment...

I don't get this lack of urgency. Sheaf literally strolls off when subbed. Then we get a free kick a few moments later and take about a minute to take it... And then, fuck me. an absolute gift. Just so fucking casual.

Match Thread Coventry v Sunderland Championship Playoff 1st Leg Friday 9th May

Feels like we're in charge of the game, but without really making any clear cut chances. Bit frustrating, I wish we'd break a bit faster - it sometimes feels like we're looking for the perfect goal rather than just going for it...

India acts against Pakistan after terrorist incident

Call a waahmbulance, this endless two-tier bullshit is utterly tedious. As is your bollocks about people of Indian or Pakistani heritage having no loyalty to this country. Unbelievable racist shite, as usual. Now I know it tends to upset racists when they're called racist, so I've got a...

    VE Day

If you've got a problem with the Iranian state, that's one thing. If you think blaming all Iranians for the actions of a tiny number is acceptable, then you're a racist idiot. Which is it? Now I'm not saying you are a racist idiot, but let's be fair, the right wing does have more than its...

I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Simms, but confidence must be bursting out of that eleven now and he deserves another run out. I wouldn't change anything for Friday. Sunderland will be rightly nervous. Same again please.

Definitely worth a 6, maybe even a 6.5. 😁 All joking aside, Tats was immense today too. Not just a slick technician, so brave in the tackle too - some great defending. And the crowd were immense too. Ten out of ten for the 12th Man. Fantastic day.

    For the older fans here

I actually think I've become more relaxed about it as I've got older. Certainly during the game I still get excited/frustrated/angry/sweary, but I don't think it's enough to tip me into a cardiac event. If I don't post again after the Boro game, you'll know I'm wrong on that though. 😄

    Lampard

Unless I missed something, Luton's winner came about because Collins completely lost his head, ran out of his goal, and clattered his defender. So the only goal in the game came about from his incompetence. Yes, we got bullied. Yes Luton looked better than us for large parts of the game. But...

It's not Binks fault. His job isn't to try to cover for a headless fuckwit in goal. That was chaos entirely of Collins's making. He's failed, yet again, at the most basic aspect of goalkeeping and cost us more points - whether his performance until that point was approximately adequate is...

Then he's deflecting, because it wasn't the ref that cost us the game. Lampard needs to reflect on his own choices, imho, because most people on here could see what was likely to happen.

There's only one bloke to blame for that goal, and it's not Binks. Actually, two blokes, the fucking clown in goal, and, I'm afraid, the bloke who picked him. Let's hope the latter has learned a lesson at least.
