    Next 5 are important

The next 6 are all winnable games imo. For the most difficult games, we have home advantage. If we beat PNE at home I will certainly believe that a date is on our side. Sheffield Wednesday is a big litmus test because Hillsborough is a tough place to go.

Whilst Sheaf is a Coventry City player, he will be a starter. As it happens, Grimes and Sheaf will complement one another. Sheaf is better defensively and Grimes has a better range of passing. It’ll almost like getting the band back together (Sheaf + Hamer).

Yep, agreed and imo, this because our passing lanes were too lateral. We were back in the habit of passing side-to-side without penetrating a defensive shape. The 4-2-3-1 shape liberated about 2-3 players on the pitch when that tactical change was made.

It’s more the shape in the first half. Having one striker and only 2 CMs to cover the distance in the middle third was imbalanced. It was probably a mistake to drop BTA. Our passing lines were lateral before we took Kitching off and Simms/BTA were isolated until EMC was on the wing. Rudoni...

Saka was RW all game to be fair, he sometimes struggles to impact games which was the case for most of the game. EMC was a lot more threatening and impactful in his cameo. Sakamoto two best attributes in my view is his positioning and precision. He has that special quality of ending up at the...

Overall, it was an even game that could’ve went either way and we got out rub of the green! The only good corner we put in the box in the second half led to a goal and it was good to see we had routines that asked questions of their set piece defending in the first half. In the first half, the...

100% agreed… Goalkeeper = shit Defence = shit Midfield = shit Strikers = shit … Yet we stand 1 point from the playoffs.

He was a good captain at Barnsley which made it all the more strange that he couldn’t get a look in under MR and Carr this season. Particularly when it seemed obvious to all we missed leadership qualities at the back. From Day 1, our most reliable CBs were always Thomas and Kitching.

Had we played a full strength team, yes. Their weakened team had the leagues top scorer in it, a former England POTY, the top Championship GK (Palmer) and two wingers who scored 27 goals in our league last year. In fact, just in their starting front 4, there were 61 Championship goals between...

Agree with this sentiment. Just because someone disagrees with you, it’s not damaging. I don’t think it’ll stop participation and/or support of the women’s game. There’s plenty of people who enjoy the more family-friendly nature of women’s football and it has a niche in the market. On a...

By your definition, a team that is promoted to the Premiership isn’t truly a prem team until they stayed up? If you get promoted, you deserve to be there. The teams listed are not mathematically relegated yet.

We’ve won 5 on the bounce before the Leeds game, beating teams in and around the playoffs so not really sure how you can come to that conclusion. There is an issue with parachute payments because it’s inherently wrong that the Prem partly-subsidises the teams that got relegated. However...

Yes, he did. Both wingers are expected to act as a second striker when the ball is on the opposite side of the pitch which is how Sakamoto nearly scored a header against Leeds. With that in mind, it seems inevitable that EMC and Wright will play either side of Simms. Both players are good at...

It hasn’t been found out. Leeds have scored 62 goals already, averaging 2 goals a game. They are just a class above the rest of the league. As for Ipswich, we played a weakened team so why anyone is shocked that we were outclassed is beyond me. In both games we were chasing the game too which...

    Summer Transfer Window

Perhaps it’s too obvious, I can’t see us not playing a front 3 of Haji-Simms-EMC. If it doesn’t work, then it’s back to the drawing board but each of those players impact the game positively in attack. I’m not sure Wright at striker and EMC necessarily works. Both players will want to work...

Since playing 5-3-2, we’ve comfortably been the better team in terms of xG. In the league, the only exceptions being Norwich and Leeds and in both games, we should’ve scored more than we actually did. Our home form has also been solid, I don’t know why there’s this moral panic because we...

Yes. By definition, if they’re too good for the Championship, then they are Premier league standard. Staying up is the real challenge, of course. We’re not at full strength and haven’t been for a while now. When everyone is back, the team will look like a top 6 team in our division.

    Lati off?

There’s sometimes a tendency to oversimplify issues. It’s taken 2 games against top opposition for people to turn on the defenders again. Ipswich and Leeds have Championship dream teams and at the end of the day, we’re missing our 2 best players and EMC. Both games, we concede early goals and...
