    Doug got it right

Some key details omitted there. The fall out with AV was the beginning because King felt Robins could get ‘exposed’ as a manager without top coaches around him. The coaching staff not being up to scratch and the results turning made his position untenable. What’s been bullshit exactly...

    Doug got it right

The results is the bottom line, the cracks began in King’s mind when Robins unilaterally broke up a successful partnership. Which is probably fair given what happened. I’m not sure why people thinks he talks bullshit, everything he’s said he’s going to do, he’s done. I’m sceptical about the...

    Doug got it right

It’s a good thing King was unburdened by the sentiment. The 30-odd game stretch heading up to Robins being sacked was not good enough and any other manager would’ve been sacked sooner. A lot of the fanbase was willing to blame anyone and everything other than Robins. Robins is, and will always...

He only really got a run of games after Norwich away so it’s a false proposition. He’s a good striker and scores goals playing as a lone striker or in a formation with 2 strikers, it’s not a black and white situation.

Did last season not happen? Scored 19 goals playing as a lone striker. He is an effective striker when he gets consistent game time.

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

The point has been missed entirely. If you had two teams with equal xG and one team had 22 shots and the other has 8… who do you think created the better chances? What were Wednesday’s big chances? They hit the bar and forced a few decent saves from Dovin.

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

No, there’s game state to take into account which adds context to xG. Our chances were better chances than Wednesday’s whichever way you look at it and after their equaliser, we created the two best chances of the half.

Exactly… Their keeper also kept out Sakamoto’s header that was a good opportunity also. Sheffield Wednesday had 11 shots with 0.77 xG which leads into the argument that they didn’t really trouble us that much. We were a lot more efficient than they were.

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

I rewatched the highlights and just from that snippet you’d think we were on top. 1.56 xG divided by 22 amounts to 0.07 per shot which is not great, frankly. Compare that to our 1.51 xG which was 0.19 per shot which is considered a ‘good chance’. We went 1-0 up after 16 minutes and you could...

The xG was basically even which shows that they had a lot of shots but didn’t really create big chances. It was a typical away day performance where we conceded lots of chances and relied on hitting them on the counter. Both second half goals relied on a dose of good fortune.

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

We’ve been the better team in this stretch betting the Leeds and Wednesday games. The difference in xG yesterday was 0.04 towards Wednesday and frankly, they really didn’t create any clear cut chances in the second half and their goal was a pretty lucky OG that ricocheted off Lati with no...

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

You’re right and the same applies to the teams in the autos atm. The gulf is so large. Ipswich spent £150m on their squad this season!

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

At the current run rate, we’ll overtake them both. WBA’s form under Mowbray has been inconsistent and replacing Corberan is no easy feat. As for Blackburn, their manager has just left to go to a relegation threatened team. That’s not a good sign. I’m confident we’ll catch and overtake both teams.

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

We’ve been better than most teams in xG save Norwich, Sheffield W and Leeds. Two of which are away games which is pretty normal for home teams to have higher xG generally. We rode our luck yesterday because their keeper dropped an absolute clanger and fair play to Simms for getting in his way...

Simms was sold to us when Dyche was manager? Lampard gave Simms his first sub appearances and whilst he may have loaned him out, it’s not the same thing as being sold.

That’s got to be a universal preference… imagine being Man Cuty in their prone where they expect to batter everyone 4 or 5-0?! That’s morning to me!!! About 2-3 games on I started to believe playoffs were on! After today I reckon it’s borderline odds-on!

Ngl, I and few mates of mine were pally pally with the Wednesday-ite’s- in the Hillsborough social club and they weren’t bad lads despite being ‘round the edges’ by our definitions! My personal experience with Sheffield W fans was that they were decent, honest working men!
