    Ben Stevenson

In fairness I also had Stevenson down as a future star. I think, in a way, Maddison getting his move as soon as he did put delusions of grandeur into a few of the younger players that followed. Still, he’s had a career as a pro footballer. Not many can say that.

    Championship thread 24/25!

Find Rubin Colwill quite an interesting player from a recruitment perspective. Not a world beater by any stretch but young, physical and positionally versatile.

    The home leg first advantage

Interesting. That’s the patter that one of the salesmen at Halfords used when I bought my bike earlier.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We don’t agree on much but I think we do on this. The current government don’t seem capable of telling their story, regardless of what they’ve achieved (or, indeed in your view, not achieved). The only issue is that people seem to feel expertise is elitist nonsense. I really don’t see how you...

Can’t be true, our Nige is a champion of the people. He drinks pints and everything!

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Whilst a lot of this is whiff, I have often wondered why we don’t make use of National Insurance cards in healthcare.

    Advice for Saturday please.

With how much is riding on the game, ask Doug to push kick off back 15 minutes. Then engineer a 2-2 draw (maybe).

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Don’t know the data behind it, and I think I’ve floated it before, but it would intrigue me whether you could reduce income tax in some capacity and backfill the deficit with some ‘wealth’ tax. Seen a few graphs on how people try to avoid breaking the £100k income threshold because of the impact...

Could just ask them all to bark.

    Brad Collins

Yes but a loan with a view to Dovin coming back as #1 makes the most sense for me. It’s a bit of a risk having another first choice keeper commanding a more than decent wage who may be benched by the end of the season. Also doubt they’d be interested in a 1 year deal.

    Who would you sell?

As ever, depends on what replacements could be readily available. If Van Ewijk went I wonder whether we could get Max Aarons in on loan. Wright is probably the most inconsistent of the 3 but on his day is the best. We’d probably still be able to get £15m for him in a year’s time, but he’s had...

Good grief imagine Ellis Simms trying to play a pass like that!

No doubt their squad is miles ahead in terms of quality, but the way and pace at which they attack is great. So much more enjoyable than Burnley.

Just can’t see us signing another decent keeper on a permanent deal when the likelihood is Dovin will be back in sticks next year. Admittedly, we don’t know if he will come back the same, but a loan deal far more likely IMO.

    Injuries - get em out

Could play Binks at LB? Obviously not going to do something so experimental in a crucial match but I’d have been very interested to see it.

    Biamou or Simms

Immensely frustrating player. Said before I think the thing that lets him down most is his personality style - he has neither the will to win nor the desire to improve himself. He’s borderline uncoachable. Sell him in the summer and bring in someone who better fits what we need. Can’t try and...

Look on the bright side @Evo1883, I’ve finally joined your thought process on Simms.
