Exactly. It was never a hard & fast "no loans". King was reluctant as he sees it as dead money & for the other reasons outlined by Austin at the forum but for the right player at the right price, there was always room for at least 1. We should have done more to get 1 or 2 in during the summer...

I know... I even said it at the time. See below Have you read the actual messages above or just picked bits & drawn your own conclusions? https://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/allen-injured.162954/post-3165330 James McConnell I was told.

I agree & also think we should have pushed harder in the summer, but as I say it would be a bit of a 180° for King. He was very cautious/reluctant with them even as a proposed playoff chasing team to then spend money on them for no return would be odd. Hopefully, as suggested he's listening to...

Yeah but we were targeting playoffs then. It's highly unlikely we'll reach them now so the money would essentially be wasted.

Would be an odd change of tact from King given we aren't going down or making playoffs, it's just dead money. Caveats over loans with view to perm or if we're offloading elsewhere to offset the wages of course.

Has Dovin helped steady things more than we think ?

Robins never picked Collins this season.

Has Dovin helped steady things more than we think ?

Hard to say vs 2 teams that barely attacked at all (no surprise that they are the lowest scorers in the league) but I saw no reason to leave him out in the first place. Should have done better with the QPR goal but other than that, nothing overly concerning & he needs to establish himself if...

No wonder if they were shooting from your seat, especially if you're sat behind the goal. Wonder what the xG would be on that.

Yes thanks. Take it up with Opta fella. Fwiw, In my opinion, the best opportunity didn't even result in a shot. Seemed to me if Langstaff had been switched on to Thomas's shit back pass he'd have just tapped it past Dovin, would need to see it again though.

Tanganga's header at the back post. If he'd tried to hit it with his feet rather than his head, he'd surely have hit the target. I also thought they could have caused us a proton the counter but, similar to us, chose the wrong option or slowed it down.

Why are you still obsessing over Robins? You got your wish, albeit 7 years later.

Did you not think? They had more shots, more on target, more big chances, higher xG. We had one moment from a decent bit of play & individual skill. That's it.

Against a team that had zero attacking intent but still looked more like scoring than we did.

Dull... 😴 Come up against a team who don't want to gift us the ball on the edge of their own area & we are completely bereft of ideas.

Exactly. Better with a player getting hot-headed like that to book him early & try to manage the situation.
