Two wrongs don't make a right

Sorry Japandy, but this is nonsense on several levels. First of all the council were not "bailing out" a company (we'll ignore the fact that they owned half of that company), they provided a loan which enabled them to restructure a debt by paying at a lower interest rate that the one they were...

Who's buying a season ticket this year?

You mean you 100% will, or you won't?

CET: Sky Blues take Coventry City Council to high court over bailout

On the other hand, if you we're partners with someone in a company and you lent that company money at a low interest rate so they could offer a lower rent to a tenant of one of your buildings, how would you feel if that tenant took to to court for giving that loan?

Who's buying a season ticket this year?

If SISU go ahead with their threat to play elsewhere next season (probably St Andrews or the KP), who's going to actually commit to buying a season ticket when they become available? I know I won't be buying one!

CET: Sky Blues take Coventry City Council to high court over bailout

So here we have the hedge fund owners of a football club taking the local council to Court for loaning a company they half own, that leases a building they own, money so that they can offer a lower rent to a tenant that is owned by ... er ... said hedge fund. I don't know the ins and outs of...

    Message to Mr Pressley

It's not administration that's keeping us in a transfer embargo. It's not filing the accounts. That's down to Tim.

    Cardiff an example worth following!

Ordinary fans, through the Swans Trust, own 20% of the club. The rest is owned by a fairly small number of local "rich fans". I'm not sure being rich makes them lesser fans. And surely that way is better than a Malaysian billionaire with no connection with the city who insists on changing the...

Steven Pressley at Sky Blue Trust meeting

If he got us playing like Barcelona there'd be some City fans who'd complain!

    Pressley blames the pitch

Play to your strengths? Just what would those be on a pitch like that? You wouldn't have Ball presumably, since he has a poor scoring record. McDonald? McSheffrey? They'd be wonderful with the high balls wouldn't they.

Ashbyjan or anyone from the Sky Blue Trust....

The trust has members from all over the world. They get pretty regular emails from the membership secretary, and he positively welcomes any feedback. Read my post earlier, and you'll see that I took on board the suggestion of a questionnaire. I don't know how many times it has to be said, but...

Ashbyjan or anyone from the Sky Blue Trust....

I thought everyone was entitled to their opinions Nick? And no one I know in the Trust thinks those who aren't members aren't Sky Blue supporters. But if you can't take the criticism, don't dish it out!

    Proud

You could try taking her to the cricket. Try explains the LBW rules to her! (And ignore any crude comments from others on this board about legs, wickets etc)

Ashbyjan or anyone from the Sky Blue Trust....

Shmmeee, I don't think anyone on the board wants to see themselves as part of an elite. If particular information has not been told to people, it's for one of two reasons: either we don't know, or we've been asked for confidentiality. I know the second of those can be frustrating for people...

    Golden share

To be fair, it's not them who call it that. It's simply an individual share in the FL or FA. It's other people who have talked of it as a "golden" share, since it gives a club the right to compete in the League.

    Ryton Training Ground

I stand corrected. My comments about Ryton Villagers are still true. I can see them storming the council offices with pitchforks if the grant planning permission for housing.

    Golden share

Certainly, in 2009, the accounts of Sky Blue Sports and Leisure (the parent company of the group) show CCFC Ltd as being engaged in "Playing activities of a professional football club" and CCFC (Holdings) as "Holding company providing management and other services to subsidiary undertakings" I...

    Ryton Training Ground

Since when? (That's a serious question, by the way. I've never heard of planning heads' jobs being brought together like that)

    Ryton Training Ground

I'm pretty sure that Ryton is listed on the ARVO debenture (along with everything other than players - down to the paper clips). So if CCFC(holdings) don't lay claim to it, ARVO will. If it gets to SISU being left with Ryton and no club, they'll have difficulty selling it for development...

FL to make announcemant later today

The problem is, the situation here is pretty unique. A club that is split in two and one part going into admin (like Southampton, but the other way round.) Confusion about which part holds the golden share (though expect the FL & FA to say they're with CCFCLtd as far as they're concerned) etc...

    Big question for City fans

Of course fan-ownership doesn't work. Don't you know that most Bundesliga clubs are about to go out of business? Fans own 51% of each of those clubs. The dozen or so Trust owned clubs here, from Wrexham to Exeter are all in deep doo-doo. And the Green Bay Packers will never make a go of it in...
