I assumed the poster meant "done for" as a premier league level manager which is likely.

Playing at a top level has very little bearing on quality as a manager.

so he’d never get one job in the next 14 years if he remained in football management for the next 15 years regardless of anything because he got the favourites to be relegated this seasonal actually relegated? Makes sense.

To stand a chance of a prem job he will have to turn it round with us and at least put up a respectable fight against relegation. If he walked today he wouldn’t get one.

If we're relegated, he walks! If its not working, why show loyalty to somebody that I dont think will show it in return.

A Premier league job? Yes I'd be surprised.

Doug won't sack him even if we go down, he's starstruck by him. He'll walk if we're adrift by Christmas imo

Lampard, after what he achieved last season, deserves more than 4 games before any thread like this pops up

I think we need to back him come hell or highwater.

Unless we are losing 5 nil every week, he deserves our full support.

I am convinced we will pick up wins from somewhere

Had we taken our chances in that first half yesterday, it could have been a completely different outcome.

As long as the players give their all and there's no sign of dissent in the dressing room, we have to stick by FL.

Is that why you wanted him in to replace Robins? Was that his crowning achievement for you to suggest him?
 
Lampard achieved something last year that no one in 25 yrs could manage, and took a team up in first place that probably wasn't the best squad, I'd let him try again if we get relegated and hope we come back.upnin a better position than this season.
 
Ive always had the view that there is a certain damage limitation in Lampards head he feels he can get away with without the recent increase in his reputation being smashed.

His stock until the last couple of weeks has never been higher. He knows that. A year getting our arse handed to us and getting about 16 points ruins all that hard work.

I feel if we are cut adrift after 10 games he walks. He doesn't need the money

when making this thread, it wasnt me calling for his sack, it was purely comparing the situation of us and preston (sacking heckingbottom) - my thoughts are jsut that, if we lose 6 out of 7, would doug sack him, im not asking if anyone else thinks he should be sacked right now.

Just saying....Doug sacked robins 14 games into the league (not including cups games)
14 games, 4 wins, 3 draws, 7 losses.

im sure doug will sack frank if the trend is any worse than that.
 
I don't King would, or should, sack him.

Robins had completely imploded he'd completely run out of ideas. We're some way off that.

Pointless sacking him. The squad is what it is.
Sunday we had 8 starters from the Championship, 2 new signings who probably wouldn't have made the bench at their previous clubs this season and young Amenda.
Besides we're only 7 points off Champions League place :LOL:

Yes which is why i'd only fire him if we're comically shit and not if we went down with something of a fight. We look more the former in these early stages though it has to be said.

My view is it would take at least 3 windows to bring the squad that got promoted up to a comfortable established Premier League side, it's easy to get carried away with spending 120 million when we've only recently been signing players we want and not picking up what's been left by everybody else, one player can cost that much these days.
