If we are slagging public transport off then I would like to partake

My train on the way up was terminated at Macclesfield, whilst the one coming home was dangerously overcrowded

I get Manchester is a prime destination and it is a Saturday, there were gigs, football on and so on so a busy service is to be expected but it is like having your teeth pulled out trying to get a train anywhere in this country, particularly when on Cross County - if there had god forbid been an accident on the inbound train it would have got really ugly as you could not move an inch, I don't get how trains cannot be capped, you can't just cram people into a gig or a football stadium but there is no control for how many get on a train

At least I am entitled to half my fare back on delay repay due to the delay on the way up

There should be football specials put on for top flight games at least.

Brighton fans are in for a shock on Sunday let’s put it that way, or at least the ones who didn’t go to our last fixture in 2011/12. A sardine tin of a train service to the CBS where nobody can get on at Coventry station.

The train companies would rake it in from a matchday special.

Mine says TfGM £3.50 pending.

My wife’s says 🐝 Bee Network £3.50

Edit, that was for two journeys.

Far be it from me to defend Maggie Thatcher but most of those inconveniences can also be linked back to the disgraceful behaviour of far too many football fans at that time. She may have had disdain for working people and their pastimes but let's face it, see was given plenty of ammunition in the case of football fans.

Cross Country is the worst operator and I avoid using them whenever I can, best bet is to go via Nuneaton if travelling from Cov to Manchester. The amount of times I've had to stand in a packed corridor hungover to fuck for at least half the journey, for the best part of £60 beggared belief

Can't be any worse then the bus service they run at their ground.

Unfortunately as someone who used to travel from Tamworth to and from the North East and Yorkshire regularly Cross Country were my only means of travelling if I wanted to not drive when I came home and they have always been a shambles

I don’t quite get how they are allowed to keep the franchise as they have been the same for years and never improve
 
With all the shoplifting going around nationally, prevailing police actions around it,law and order around it, I'm really not sure myself, but the comments of someone like ccfc4life are not helping,to deivrive from chat on here to point the finger of guilt whether in jest or serious is not helpful.

Emailed these and phoned twice this morning been cut off while been transferred over both times, and automated email reply says will get back to you within 5 working days

"TfGM say they’re going to refund everyone who has been charged £60.
They’ve admitted a fault has occurred during an upgrade to a small number of ticket inspection devices"

The cov fans who robbed the off licence were wrong but this should have the same publicity if not more but haven’t seen anything from the media

CWR reported on it yesterday.
Had some consumer rights expert on with advice for supporters on how to get their money back thoughh it seems TfGM have held their hands up to the error

Good to hear, do you know what time so I can listen back? I haven’t seen anywhere else. I’ve filled the complaints form in. Quick enough to take the money but not quick enough to refund.

The amount of money they’ve scammed is a disgrace.

Fairly sure it was Lorna Bailey. Its on at work and I dont take a lot of notice though my ears prick up when they discuss anything Sky Blues related.

So 100’s of football fans get £60 wrongly taken from their accounts, nothing said.

Few idiots act like imbeciles uproar.

Think you’ll find few idiots shouldn’t supersede a few 100 fans impacted

I went to a City champions league game a few years ago against Shakthar as they were doing £10 tickets and me and my uni mates were skint.

Behind us there were some Spanish fans who spent the whole game on tiktok. Seats in front were empty, to the right we had the Chinese fans with the half and half scarves and to the left an actual city fan.

Worst atmosphere at a game I've ever been to, hardly anyone celebrated when they scored.

Funny enough I was at that game. Was about six one wasnt it? Sterling got a really dodgy penalty in the first half and Gabriel Jesus scored a hat trick?

Man City got to the cup final the year or year after and my mate who bought these tickets received an email asking if he would like to go as he was on the waiting list!
