Frank has always been like this, the only time hes changed it up was away at Boro last season when we matched them at 2-2 and we ended up winning the game. He does seems quite stubborn

He is 6 feet, Simms 6"3. No idea why Simms didn't get on, can only think Simms is being sold, doesn't make sense otherwise. Not Franks greatest day
 
I'm apoplectic that this revamped team hasn't gelled after 180mins of Premier League football (90mins against the champions league finalists)

I cannot believe that you make a a post to criticise a single player on a day when very few players were up to scratch either because of there own inability or because of the way the team was set up and how they were asked to play.

And of course you are not alone in that

It just looks as if you have a downer on one particular player

Do what Hull have spent the last season and a couple of games doing. Sit in deep and hit fast on the counter.

Indeed I thought from the recruitment that's how we intended to play, rather than whatever Russell Martin tribute act we have going on.

Simms must be being sold, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Like it didn't in the Sunderland semi finals.

Not Franks way..their manager totally out thought ours.
 
If we go to five at the back then you can’t play Grimes as he will be in there as well, Grimes is slowing us down to much now with his passing sideways.
Maybe now we can leave a player or two up when we are defending corners it helps when there is an outlet.

It isn't out thinking to just rinse and repeat something your players know inside out and makes sense when you haven't enough quality to go toe to toe with anybody. The way to unlock these teams is progressing the ball at pace, that has always been the case.

FL looked at how we played last season and concluded, rightly, that it would be punished this season. He made all the right noises over the summer about that, and the way we should be playing instead. I don't know what it is we're trying to do instead.

Not in the FA coaching manual though.

But Hull they were going to sit in and try to counter at pace, and are happy to just head balls into the box away. In a game with a wet, greasy pitch you have two players with decent long range shooting, Torp and Hamer, and instead of having efforts on goal our build up play was slow, allowing them to get in position, just to eventually get it out to the wings and put the crosses in that they're more comfortable with. Set pieces were likely to provide the best chance of a breakthrough and again leave our two best set piece takers on the bench and give them to Grimes, who has never been great at them IMO.

Plus I don't think the formation is working. Should be a 4-2-3-1 rather than a 4-3-3.

Does anyone have the positional heat map for Rudoni? Was he playing that deep in possession?
