A few names from the past there. Ardiles was a tremendous player.

Yard Dogs was Oldham’s badge of pride I remember. Milligan and Henry in midfield, busy players who didn’t let opposition settle. They had a good team too until it broke up. Andy Ritchie, Earl Barrett, Paul Warhurst, Andy Goram, Denis Irwin etc. Got to a couple of FA Cup semi finals and League Cup final and took a few big scalps when they first came up.

Talk about purple patch in their history. I used to live in Manchester - met a surprising number of their fans too. I was there when we won 1-0 in the cup, would need to look up exactly when. Scruffy game, slightly dodgy journey back for me. Them were the days. Think we are showing our age now though

It was a purple patch in their history, but so what they had a great side. Also their fans are great and have a cracking sense of humour. Showing my age, I remember Coventry getting promoted to the top flight the first time. :D

Really good fan base, take quite big numbers away too. Must be a big choice not to go to one of the Manchester teams.

I’ve learned I’m younger than you (though it might still be close)
