...we play the champions of England away. Live on TV.

How prepared are we? Yes, Rushworth will be signed. But we had no friendly last week and I don't think there is one tomorrow? Starting to get a bit worried now.

So on top of recruitment being shit, lampard and the coaching staff have no idea how to plan a summer pre season either now?

We were streets ahead of the entire league fitness wise the start of last season. Lampard and the coaches will have them in great shape I have no doubt.

I opened this expecting positivity and thought I was going to read, 3 weeks today we play in the Premier League for the first time in 25 years.

Forget all the outside noise, embrace it, enjoy it, what will be will be.

We're back baby!! PUSB

Well we'd better just throw the towel in now eh!

Definitely.

I've got everything lined up to go to the match, got a single annual leave day I'm going to use, got a place on a coach, just sweating out whether I have enough points for a ticket. The idea of being in the crowd for our first match in the PL since 2001 gets me giddy with excitement. I barely care about the result

The game is a complete write off tbh. We’ll be getting battered either way. Hull is the important one but even with an extra week we still have a lot to do.
Hopefully we don't have to do too much to be in a position where we should beat Hull at home, then the next game is just as much a free hit as the first. There is still a month until the window closes and as always the last day will be very busy.
Our next home game after Hull isn't until 13th Sept, giving us 2 weeks to integrate any last minute signings.
Not ideal but not a disaster (yet)

It’s going to be a tough season for some of our fans. They will resort to having to watch some games from behind the settee and the gaps between their fingers.

Hard fought 1-0 win. Already had the dream (vision, premonition, etc.). Although in my dream it was Liverpool away as the first game of the season. either way, I’m taking the 3 points. The person in charge of my dreams isn’t great on detail sometimes.

We will get battered but at least we’re back baby! 😂

Wilson
MVE Thomas Amenda JDS
Grimes Onyeka
Loum Torp EMC
Simms

Caveat this could change if we sign some more players 😜

Have a guess who Brentford beat their 1st game in the prem, wouldn’t be surprised if we get at least a point,

Is Rudi not going to be fit either?

We were 17-1 odds for the win when I looked earlier, worth a tickle if we still think some influential signings could be added ahead of the game as that's big odds for a season opener. 7-1 the draw too.

Speaking from experience, for you young ones, life in the top flight will be tough, lots of losses, yearly relegation battles and hopefully survive them.
Oh boy but the highs of beating your Liverpool's and your Arsenal's and your Man Utd's and Man City's will be way above anything you have ever experienced at a City game ever.

And it’s a lot tougher than it was when we were there last time…

I think Arsenal have a number of players who have been away on world cup duty and some still on holiday. Rice looked knackered and I do think they will be a little vunerable on opening day. We on the other hand will be more than ready for this challenge. I think if we play with the confidence of last season players like EMC, Sakomotto will give them problems. Just have a feeling it could be a good start.
