He made no attempt to grab his weapon.
The notion that he intended to 'massacre law enforcement' is clearly utter bollocks as is the notion that the officer fired defensive shots.
I normally try and avoid these things but with the wildly differing claims being made I've watched multiple videos of this incident, including ones that start before Pretti had any interactions with ICE. I have seen nothing that could even remotely begin to justify the actions of ICE.
The witness statements released by the authorities appear to confirm the same. Worrying some witnesses have stated they are scared to go home as ICE are detaining witnesses, something they have no grounds to do. When you've got the local sheriff suggesting they will be asking the National Guard to come in to protect innocent people from ICE there's an enormous problem.
Have to add anyone trying to justify this with 'it's America' or something similar has lost the plot. That's not in any way a valid argument. The police, who are highly trained, should not be shooting innocent people, they should only shoot when in fear of their own lives or if there is a danger to others. ICE, who in some cases only have a few weeks training, certainly should not. You certainly shouldn't have those in power openly stating that ICE are immune from prosecution for their actions as we saw a couple of weeks ago.
Let's not forget that pre-Trump ICE was largely an administrative department. Identifying people in the country illegally and taking the appropriate action. Its only under Trump that we've seen a recruitment campaign offering a large signing up bonus to anyone who wants to join with adverts that are barely a step away from 'do you want to shoot illegals'.
And if you look at the number of people in the country illegally being removed the numbers have plummeted since Trump has gone down this route.
