I've got one for you, another Chelsea connection, I'm as. assuming Frank knows him and his wider football experience but it could also be disruptive .

I don't get the issue with Luke O'Nien...he's a decent defender. And he's a shithouse. Very experienced and has experience of getting promoted (twice).

Granted, it's not the first position we need to improve but he's not as bad as some are making out.

I see he's been linked with Brum and WBA as well as us. It would be one of those signings that if he goes to one of them, I'd be like 'that's solid business'.

He has been taking very positively about City over last few months

I don’t disagree with Doug and it was refreshing for him to be so honest and transparent
I just wonder why others have that set up if it gets in the way

To be fair listening to the Peterborough owner podcast it does seem to a burden depending on who comes in.

Personally if Lampard is happy without one, I don’t see why we need to potentially upset him to get one in. Overall the recruitment since Doug has come in has worked considering where we are in the table

I wouldn’t, he has never convinced me as a centre back and is no better than what we have. He isn’t available, but a Joe Worrall type is what I’d be looking at here.

I hate the fucker, but……… put him in the middle and let him rat the fuck out of the opposition. He might give Grimes the time and space to work his magic.

Don't think we will sign anyone of great pedigree, will DK brake the pay structure?.maybe only loan players which won't get us to the promised land.But if you had of said at the beginning if the season we would be 6 clear after 26 games after no real signings I'd have said you were fucking stupid.

There has to be bit of a balanced gamble by Doug here. It’s a position of strength to be top and a great chance for autos. So something has to give. Rushworth is a £10m keeper we have on loan. We need the likes of Esse £15m on loan etc to add that quality. Temp wages if higher than our perm players needs to be broken temporarily.

Because we get consistently linked in the press with players, reliable sources had us having bids rejected for tons of players in the summer, who then went on to sign for other clubs. The fact we couldn't sign a single winger despite it being incredibly obvious that's what we were trying to do. You obviously can't know exactly what happened behind the scenes but its pretty clear they didn't sign the amount of players they wanted to. The Hughes fiasco says it all, we appear to have dedicated significant time to bidding for a player that was never going to be achievable.

January feels clear to me. If we want to get back to the early-season attacking style, we need to sign a BTA-type number 10 who runs beyond the striker and attacks the box. That movement stretched teams and created space. If we stick with Rudoni’s slower build-up play, then the striker has to change instead. The number 10 is not going to make those runs, so we need a striker who can hold the ball up, bring others in, and use pace to work defenders and run channels. Doing neither will not change our results.
