The sentiment is correct… but interesting new years message making a thinly veiled attack on the fans

I'd rather have an owner calling as he (and a lot of us) see it and maybe not get his words bang on, than just talk platitudes. It's a bit clunky but I like the idea of a rallying call with some stuff from the club alongside it.

Thinly veiled attack. Haha. He's spot on. You support your team win, lose or draw. You don't bail out when the going gets tough.

We commented on it at the time. Why on earth would you leave?

Dig at people leaving is a bit silly.
We were beat, it was freezing, its Christmas, people want to beat the traffic and get back to their families.
And I say that as someone who was there to the end.

He could of appealed for people to stay to the end for the upcoming fixtures without having a go at those who left early.

I’ll be honest, I went the bar 2nd goal, only because it was on sky, freezing cold and we were never getting back in the game, sorry Doug it won’t happen again, consider myself bollocked, but it doesn’t hurt just to remind the players when a performance isn’t good enough, they’ve set a high bar and need to keep it there

Bang on for me but I wouldn’t leave before a game finishes ever so I know he’s not aiming his comments at me

Yeah there’s people who always tend to leave with a few to go regardless. But he’s right about the droves thing - it was shit to see.

To be honest people staying in the bar is worse in my book.
It was 0-0 at HT and we were right in the game and people stay in the concourse drinking piss, but everyone's entitled to do as they please

The game was done Pete. Like I say, I stayed, but I don't think there's a need to dig those who didn't.

I could understand it more if it was a 3pm kick off in September

Yeh he just came out and said it didn't he? Lol

He's right it was annoying seeing people walk out like the players didn't deserve their presence, I mean how dare you go 2 down?!

But still didn't expect that from king

And yeah give people club shop vouchers if you want them to use the exchange forget food and beverage nonsense.

If he don’t spend (wisely) in the window and we end up blowing this, due to a thin squad and the rigours of a championship winter. Its gonna be a different message entirely the next one!

8 points clear at the turn of the year….a Carbonari/Trollope type of January signing ain’t gonna cut it.

thats the same at every ground, even worse at Wembley, guess if you’ve paid you’re money you can do whatever you want, the game reflects on the crowd, worst home performance from the players this season got the worst response from the crowd,

Tbf ive left early in the past when 2 or 3 down, and i normally would have Monday

But this team have given us our best shot in a quarter of a century of getting back to the promised land, even though to a man they were fucking horse shit and meek, I stayed to the end and applauded because of how well they have done this season and put it down to a proper off day

Do it another 5 or 6 times in the next 10 games however I will be doing a disappearing act with the other 10k if we go 2 or 3 down

Also, maybe it’s just wishful thinking but making a bold statement like this on NYE says to me we’re doing some good transfer business in Jan

Wishful thinking.
And it's not really a bold statement, everything else he said is spot on. I just don't agree with a couple of lines, others will, no big deal.

He’d get more people putting their ticket on the exchange if he gave them a pro rata refund like every single club that does an exchange instead of offering a £10 food voucher

Agreed on this. Not really any incentive is there.

We haven't missed a game this season, but if we did so putting my ticket on the exchange wouldnt be top of my agenda tbh, food voucher i couldnt care less about

Maybe 20 supporter points and a 10% club shop voucher would sway me

I'm not impressed by much of this this address, not up to his usual standard feels like it was written in the aftermath of a disappointing evening.

If non attending season ticket holders are to put tickets on the exchange then he has to provide something of real value in return, food and beverage vouchers bah, big deal, personally I wouldn't eat the food they sell even if it was free.

What does he expect of the fans when we got rolled over and showed no resolve or fight.
It was a miserable situation. I left myself a few minutes before the end.

FYI I have not missed one home game this season.

On the fence about the leaving early thing. Think I’ve only done it twice in all these years. When a lot of people left after the 2nd it reminded me a bit of those dross L1 days.

Fair message from DK. The players should get support, even when losing, particularly with the way they have performed for the club this season.

It's irrelevant to Doug's message, but the crash out on this forum was ridiculous. Who on here honestly believes we have the best squad in the league and should be winning 100% or our home matches??

He’s asking fans to be fans, help the team when they need help, not bugger off home moaning after one poor 80 mins.

He’s right.

If we want to go up we have to play our part.

Anyone who thinks a few thousand people staying an extra ten minutes was going to change the outcome of that game is just as deranged as the clowns moaning because we're not averaging 3 or 4 goals a game in December.

same here, just think the game was hyped up that much how important it was it just fell flat soon as the 2nd went in, we had a huge chance to put 16 points between us, it’s a nervy atmosphere even when we’re winning so you can forgive fans for leaving a bit early , make sure they don’t have reason to do it again
