Below ours last season by 200 fans. They travel well and they sold out last season with tickets being £37 quid. That extra £10 wouldn’t deter them just as much as it wouldn’t deter me if they charged that, even if I’d grumble about it.

It is a local rivalry, all midlands teams want to get one over one another, I guarantee most people on here work with a Baggies fan or two.

It’s not a fierce rivalry but WBA can’t really claim we mean nothing (and vice versa) when they’d sell 6k in the away end on a Tuesday night.

I'm just saying why I don't particularly care about other fans.

I do find it strange that for some on here its all about the away fans being charged £45, and not our home fans being charged £45

Last season's game was a bank holiday fixture late in the season with both teams in the play off mix. Just feel this year, in November, early kick off with them not pulling up any trees, at £45, it will be a real struggle. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

The club has surely got to do a bundle deal for these two games. I don’t think Ipswich will be a Cat A+ game because it’s not a BH, people need to be in work the next day.

A FZ in the away end is needed if we’re charging the prices we do.

In the home end, our FZ is great value and there’s a few empty seats in that area so perhaps there’s work to do to ensure it’s 100% filled for all the games.

The point being made was that £45 ticket prices were needed to fund a push to the PL. In reality the difference made in profit between £45 tickets and £35 tickets won’t make that much difference to funds but it will put some people off coming to the games. The fact we’ve had only one sold out away end this season probably has something to do with pricing.
The cost of children’s tickets has no justification.

If the attendance figures quoted by Andy Turner in the Telegraph are correct we get this (hopefully the formatting is OK)

The biggest home attendance was against Blackburn.
The highest away attendance was Blues.

Bar the Birmingham game, I think they've all been Cat B games at £32 for a standard adult ticket.

If you are suggested reducing to £35 the break even crowd is 2,000 less at the higher price to generate the same revenue assuming around 9,000 tickets are available for open sale.

We'll sell out v WBA. Spoke to my Baggies colleague earlier this morning and whilst he called it a 'disgrace' said he'll pay the prices with his son.

If we do sell out with £45 tickets (and we probably will), then you get the increased revenue from ticket sales as well as people putting money at the stadium.

Football fans are like smokers, we'll baulk at prices but continue to pay it. How many smokers say they'll quit (but never do) when a pack of cigarettes reaches 'x' price?

It may be but this is one of those occasions where people are being ripped off.

It won’t be long before we have 600 quid season tickets..For 19 games of course.

Pricing is a disgrace. Shamefull.

West Brom will be smallest attendance of season. It doesn't matter even if we are top. Home and away end WILL NOT SELL out and there will be a rethink I'm sure from Doug.

He could drop the price by 13 quid, fill the ground and still benefit from the f and b / merch sales.

Imo any away ticket over £35 not including fees etc I'd say is very steep.

Fair price should be £30 capped for all of EFL.

Makes for a better product and chance of fuller away ends.

Is this still going? People keep going on about it should be capped like the premier league. They are capping away prices as they know in reality it means nothing in the grand scheme of things as their turnover as it’s so huge. It’s a red herring.

If we want promotion it has to be paid for, the club needs revenue in every single area it all adds up.

So why is it just us charging these obscene prices for adults and kids?

Our ground isn't even in the top 10 most sold stadiums in the division either.

I don’t care if not a single away fan turns up let them boycott we need the ground to be hostile and horrible to play at. This is our chance and we need to do everything to take it.

Not sure that bothers the money men. But maybe they’d be better to focus on how to get bums on seats in the areas of the ground currently empty.

I’ll be back over the Christmas period and will be going to games paying £45 a ticket and it doesn’t bother me a jot.

Occasional fans should be paying a lot more than season ticket holders who support the club every week and hand over their money when there is no cash flow during the summer.

Season tickets are great value and that should remain the same.

The issue is definitely kids tickets but we fucked that up ourselves with adults getting the cheap tickets.

You’re spot on. People are talking on here like this is every game.

People who attend more than 12 games a season should have a season ticket anyway.

For those who can’t/don’t want to attend every game, go to one of the many non A+ games instead.

I’d like to remind everyone that we’re a quarter of the way through the season already and had only one A+ game
