Missed the part where I said this isn’t to discredit Wright?

I get it now. People are purposely and selectively skirting round particular parts to force their ignorance.
You're actively replying to the criticism posts though and ignoring the ones like mine where I've explained why your thinking is flawed and nothing to do with it being the quality of Haji's strike. With such a victim mentality are you sure you don't really support Liverpool?

So I should just not reply? That last bit is dumb. Who’s playing victim? Or is replying to this one playing victim too?

Has nobody ever seen a goal back and thought the keeper was pretty poor about it? Again for the thousandth time, this isn’t to slag off the scorer - everyone will ignore this part though.
I can happily say that I have never witnessed a Coventry City player score, in any context, and decide that my immediate priority should be to downplay the goal because I believed the goalkeeper should have done better, let alone make several posts of increasing length and emotive expression insisting that everyone else is wrong and I'm right.

Hadji Wright scored twice on the international stage. Who gives a shit about anything else?

So if it involves CCFC I can’t talk general football in the same sentence? Calling him Hadji is just another can of worms tbh.

Of course you should reply, but again you've only responded on the critique. I went with a different angle that he was set for Haji going down the line and why it was therefore the defenders fault and not the keeper, who should have simply stayed on his feet and forced him that way.. As soon as he was inside, the keeper didnt have time to readjust from his position. You ignored that but responded to the others, so it does look like victim playing.

Maybe it’s having bounced between Wilson and Collins for more than a year, but for some reason our fans’ expectations of what keepers should be saving and what constitutes a blunder seem completely fried sometimes. That second goal from Wright was an outstanding finish.

And what if he’d conceded this goal?
Then its a quality finish, and Collins probably wouldnt have even backpedaled that quick to get into some form of shape to be able to try make a save, Ryan was a good Premier League goalkeeper especially at Brighton, and has even played for Arsenal, Real Sociedad and currently Levante. You dont get around some top clubs being shit

I’ll go back to it, it’s only innocently missing replies. I haven’t replied to everything as you’ll notice, apologies. Once Wright has turned there’d be time to adjust enough to even attempt the save imo. The worst defending was for the Aussie goal.

So you think the keeper is more culpable than the defender? He's perfectly set for Haji down the line which is where he should have been sent.

Decent GK’s can be poor.

Won’t deny it’s poor defending, he’s put him on his arse like he’s expecting Wright to go with his right. I’ve harmlessly said I thought the keeper could’ve done better too. Good finish, ain’t taking it away from him, but I really think as well as the defence, the keeper has left himself in a shit position to deal with it; which was my very first comment. I was talking about football, not Haji Wright.

The end. People can disagree. I can disagree with disagreements it’s all fair game - why is it being painted like it isn’t and that we have to stop the second someone does so?

Haji Wright is a great player for us and had it not been for Vik, we'd be calling him comfortably our best post-Prem striker. A fully fit Haji is one of, if not the best striker in the division - comfortably Top 3 in the league.
I would say he’s the best finisher when he’s on it, key part being when he’s on it as he can have games where he can’t his a barn door

You get a steaming pile of shite for Hadji.

I’ll save my judgement on that until the end of this season. I’m still struggling to accept how bad he was in the Sunderland games when we really needed him.

It’s a World Cup season and in his own country so he’s going to be on his A game isn’t he.

I thought they were both really good finishes tbh.
The first was particularly impressive. As was the commentary about Haji "timing his run perfectly"!

Haji's goals were class. Did his country & his club proud. Anyone saying otherwise has some sort of agenda. Weird. He will be starting & flying come 3pm Saturday.

Surprised if he doesn't score in first half.

Agree if he plays. I think it will be player's choice and I guess he'll want to start so that should seal it, but depends when (today presumably) he lands back in the UK, rest and recovery then some light training tomorrow. Probably can't really answer it until Saturday morning.

A few weeks ago that would have scared the hell out of me, but with BTA in form, Ellis coming off the bench to score a couple of goals, then if he does have to be benched and come on late, I think I'd be less concerned now.

23/24 - 17 goals
24/25 - 12 goals missing 19 games... Piroe was the top scorer with 20 goals

Any insistence that his form has only picked up because its a world cup season is nonsense. Since he's joined, he's been one of the best forwards in the division which makes the preseason naysayers arguing a) he "can't play in Lampard's system" and b) he's a better LW look even more ridiculous.

For it to be ‘unsaveable’ it needs to start outside the post and curl back into the corner. That shot started well inside the post and curled back towards the keeper, it was a good finish but to say the keeper had no chance is nonsense.

I think his first goal was the better finish.

They were two very well taken goals by a striker who's on top form for club and country.

He's clearly loving the responsibility of being the central striker.

Yep (and this is my last post on the matter!), there’s not a single post actually denying either goal was well taken.
