I hope he does, then he's ready to come back and be part of our squad. He needs games. The stick he gets is ridiculous, he's a school year younger than Obikwu.
Tbf it will probably under a different manager

The stick he gets is commensurate with the size of the fee paid to sign him, which doesn’t look like it will ever yield results now.

Reality is if he plays well for Reims then they will take up the option to sign, and if he doesn’t then we’ll just farm him out somewhere even worse.
French football is mainly about 2 clubs these days PSG and Marseille. Half of the top flight clubs would struggle in the Championship. Ligue 2 is poor.

He has a natural strikers instinct which is something that is hard to coach. Hope what happens post loan is still in our hands.
The loaning club has an option to buy.

I do not know if the price is already set or if more negotiations would be entered into to determine the price if they want him but it is a French Ligue 2 club and I think they operate at far lower budgets than EFL Championship clubs.

Anyway, he isn't coming back the best the club can hope for is he performs well there and little is lost on the mistake.

If I was him I wouldn’t want to, if your not getting a chance ahead of simms then it’s time to move on, Shame, thought he was going to be ok for us
Just goes to show the difference in standards from Ligue 2 and the U21's to the Championship.

not sure it was ability, more attitude
Think it was both. Ability wise he’s clearly not ready yet which is fine if he’s willing to work hard and improve as imo hes got a lot of potential.

But sounds like his attitude stinks which means the levels he’s at is miles away

Im not sure I agree with us having no control over his destiny after the loan.

Things change. He may mature and flourish. Surely we'd want the option to keep him at the end of the loan?

He never found a scoring touch despite plenty of game time, but definitely it looks like he was not showing the right sort of attitute.

A season is a long time in football and things can change, but it's ominous I think that the couple of punts haven't made it yet.

He was a headless chicken with an attitude of he was betterthan he 2as. Pissed the manager off like at his previous club and was kicked in to touch

Tbf if your playing second fiddle to Simms your likely to have an attitude problem.
Said the same, don‘t think he ever really got much of a chance but obviously there was a reason for that, liked him, had that bit of a shithouse about him, simms could do with a bit of it, hope he has a good loan and comes back a better player

Let's be honest, if Lampard is still here there's no chance of him coming back (even if he wanted to)

Obviously not good ability wise for Lampard to turn a blind eye on his attitude. Like with Enobakhare, your attitude won’t keep you out if you’re actually any good for the team.

It’s down to both attitude and ability. Clearly.

How much did we sign bassette for ?
For the sort of money that could have covered free transfer Emile Riis's contract for 3 years.

Hindsight - at the time we signed Bassette,I don't think I'd heard of Riis
Yeah I know and at that time he was still under contract to Preston but I present the thought as a warning about spending wisely and doing your homework properly.

My recollection on Bassette's signing was that although everyone got excited about signing the 'next big thing' the business seemed a bit of a rushed affair.
