At least MVE can now get his head back into doing his job rather than it being messed about with what could have been. Show everyone the best MVE for at least the next 12 weeks

You seen how he’s started this seasonAt least MVE can now get his head back into doing his job rather than it being messed about with what could have been. Show everyone the best MVE for at least the next 12 weeks![]()
We don’t need an owner to be in it for 10 years … 3-5 years is fine if they do a good job, and so far King is doing a very good job.some might be, but i doubt given the volatility of football, you're in it to be here for 10 years. Didn't Ranson say SISU's initial plan was to be here short term?
this is my original point though - I'm putting out the point that i think King is ready to bail.We don’t need an owner to be in it for 10 years … 3-5 years is fine if they do a good job, and so far King is doing a very good job.

Certainly interested to see how Raphael gets on in League One
I've been discussing above But:on what basis?
It's easy to dismiss free agents as cast offs but at the moment there are some really good free agents available. It's definitely a market we should look at.I see Josh Brownhill is still without a club
It could be possible that letting Sheaf go so late had a plan like this and we will all be wowed with cake icing in the near futureIt's easy to dismiss free agents as cast offs but at the moment there are some really good free agents available. It's definitely a market we should look at.
The match fitness is a big thing though to be honest. It's easy to dismiss free agents as cast offs but at the moment there are some really good free agents available. It's definitely a market we should look at.
The time to exit is when you are in the premier league not when you are close to it. Premier league teams command a much higher premium.this is my original point though - I'm putting out the point that i think King is ready to bail.
Egg on your face when Ziyech is confirmed. The match fitness is a big thing though to be honest.
Of the free agents who could add something to us, I think they are out of our wage bracket.
He would be quality, a man can dream.Egg on your face when Ziyech is confirmed.
Burnley went for what 80m? We’re not worth anything near 250m.
isn’t Doug also a hedge fund manager? They’re not known for long term are they
The match fitness is a concern you're right and we shouldn't just add bodies for the sake of it.The match fitness is a big thing though to be honest.

I don't see the figures behind your pruning the squad train of thought. We've registered around 23, or 24 senior players with the EFL pretty consistently. We've actually added U-21s and the GKs to kid the other sides that the squad is bigger than it really has been.3) Pruned the squad to a streamlined mode with value and strength. we're now a side that can regularly compete for to the top 6, with a decent and big name manager.
Maybe the plan was for Andrews to go out on loan but because Sheaf went he has been held over.Think Sheaf came out of the blue as a last minute thing that probably left us no time for a replacement. Offer was too good to miss.
Brum and Wrexham have moved the goalposts upping the ante on transfer fees that has made it difficult if you want to buy real quality.
Think where we were under SISU and where we are now.
If we get major injuries, we could be screwed, but that has always been the case in previous seasons.
Half joking but imagine Ziyech, Brownhill and Bamford as Raphael, Bassette and Sheaf replacements
When you look at free agents they are split into 3 categories mainly:The match fitness is a concern you're right and we shouldn't just add bodies for the sake of it.
Josh Da Silva is the obvious candidate for me but I'm sure he will have offers.
KKH, Rushworth and Brau were not last minute. All so last minute. Got to ask what Austin was doing all summer really.
We've got a small senior squad. But thats in terms of squad size. That being said, I'm not saying pruning is a bad thing, there isn't really any deadwood. Its a well oiled squad, which i'm sure we'd all admit - if it stays fit we'll be right up there.I don't see the figures behind your pruning the squad train of thought. But again depends on how much of a gambler you are. like i said if we don't go up this year, all of a sudden, half the squad is in its last year, and needs renewals. the value of those contracts will inevitably go up.The time to exit is when you are in the premier league not when you are close to it. I'm inclined to agree with youWhen you look at free agents they are split into 3 categories mainly:
Could offer something but too expensive
Ziyech
Brownhill
eriksen
Not good enough
Tom Lawrence
Dele Alli and the like
Could offer something
Reidewald
Da Silva
Dennis
Hagi
For what its worth I dont think we will get any free agents in.
Mve having a deputy was quite highI dont think reserve fullbacks were top priority this summer tbh.
I don't get why they didn't just say business concluded.
I don't think the communication has helped at all
Fancy being the new First Team Kit and Laundry Assistant?Yes all gone down hill recently, we don't even get under 18s or under 21s team news anymore.![]()
why do we need a defenderElliott Moore, Oxford captain is available on a free right now
You mean the Josh Da Silva that's played just 5 games in over 2 years? The match fitness is a concern you're right and we shouldn't just add bodies for the sake of it.

[/I've been discussing above But:
1) when he came in everything was based on 5 years. Players contracts were 4 years, rental agreement was 5 years.
2) he's built up the commercial side of the club massively and quickly.
3) Pruned the squad to a streamlined mode with value and strength. we're now a side that can regularly compete for to the top 6, with a decent and big name manager.
4) bought the Stadium - the key one. It requires a bit of maintenance, bit of investment - but crucially its within the club structure. To me, in its current state, it only makes sense when you're looking to sell the total package.
5) The current squad appears to be reaching the first part of their contracts. first batch of post Vik and Hamer contracts up for renewal next season. Can we afford this? crucially - Can Doug?
6) Hes not in it for the love of the club or game - hes here to make money, Hes also a hedgefund manager
ultimately Doug is risk averse. Does he want to stay and gamble on getting us to the premier league? Thats gonna take further investment. Or Does he take what is likely to be around £30m profit whilst we are where we are.
I'm probably wrong, But i get the feeling - as Tim Fisher once aluded to, we're at the top of the cycle.
There is zero evidence that Doug is risk adverse ….
He has spent all the transfer income and more on the squad and training facilities. He’s just bought the stadium that requires material investment …
A risk adverse guy doesn’t buy a football club, banks some of the transfer income, and doesn’t invest in the way he is ….
