It's not even people like Turner or Romano it's people who, for some reason, make out like they know something and think it's cool to say "my sources" it does my head in, they know what we know in regards to what's happening behind the scenes... Absolutely fuck all.

Alot of them are on this forum hiding In the background see what's writen then go post it on X like they've been told directly from Doug, it's so stupid like sometimes I'll scroll through looking at football news see a tweet from a fan saying "my sources", I just think, " fuck off you dickhead" then log out
Ive just cooked myself a fry up and I don't know which of my sorces to have red or brown hmmmm

have a look at Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton, and the other top teams, the bench isn’t great, we’re right up there
Are you joking? Ipswich had Szmodics, Akpom and Jack Clarke coming off the bench on the weekend as well as their new Spanish striker and the most expensive championship player ever

Like I said not great is it they haven’t won a game yet ? Where as our poor squad 👍 need to give us more credit, they don’t let us down when they’re needed, Eccles and Allen stepped in last season and were more than good enough,

The money I suspect was there, we were bidding on Woolfenden and Hughes. Come January we need to literally be ready to go on target a or b in positions x y z.

feels like Deja vu from last summer, fully understandable why fans are aggrieved we’re all onboard and I feel on the playing side I expected more I can’t lie
I expected more also.

Wonder if the ground purchase was not planned (though surely that takes more time to sort the funding), and thus the transfer kitty was reduced.

Sheaf however I would also assume wasn’t planned this window which would contradict the above a little.

Which just makes me think we would buy a player if the right one was available, and we simply didn’t identify anyone outside of the ones that got away.

This contradicts your point sort of

our first 11 are winning us games at the moment

depth of squad isn’t so much of an issue thus far

Just get fed up some of our fans always want to moan about something, its Prob the strongest squad we’ve had in years and still not happy, wer‘e in a great place and we’ll only get better,
I agree.

That first season in the championship should tell us that three strikers is probably not enough in many seasons but then they're the most expensive elements of the squad in both cost and wages. We certainly can't afford to be carrying anyone.

By the way I do know how to spell sauce, unlike source hmmm oops definitely 1 trillion per cent brown
I'd have brown sauce all over the fry up.

Weirdly tho if I have a bacon batch only it's red Sauce, if I have a sausage batch only it's brown yet bacon and sausage in a fry up together is getting only brown 😂 don't know why just how I have it

I think everyone wanted more this window. We have left ourselves lacking in depth in certain areas particularly the wings. I’m more than comfortable with having Andrews and Eccles as cm cover.

In fact if you had to lose a big player for a decent fee at the start of yesterday I think most people would have been content to lose sheaf out of players of that ilk.

I think we tried to get players through the door. Clearly there’s an emphasis on improving the squad quality wise and I’m sure there will be a review of why we didn’t get the targets we wanted and changes made to improve that.

I don’t question DK’s commitment he’s shown more than enough for me he wants to take us to the prem league. I don’t see why he wouldn’t he’d get a lot more for selling the club there than he would in the champ and clearly bids for Hughes show he’s willing to back for players they want.

Just need to try and be there or thereabouts come Jan and we’ll be in a good position financial wise to go for targets then.

The transfer window has closed. Silly season has started.

If anyone told us we would keep all our better players we all would have been happy. We've only lost Sheaf that could/would have got game time. Played 6 minutes this season and got injured. His place has been taken by Grimes who is normally an ever present. Sheaf has already missed about the same amount of games this season as Grimes has missed in the last 6 years. The vast majority were in agreement that Grimes and Sheaf together don't work. Yet suddenly Sheaf is a massive loss.

So who else is a loss that's left?

Binks was said to be shite. Woolfenden is his replacement. MVE now has cover so can be rested when needed and doesn't need to play every game of the season.

Yes it would have been good to bring in another midfielder but it wasn't to be. But now all of our backup midfielders are supposed to be shite. Eccles will be back soon. We don't have to play Collins or Wilson.

Just about all of us agreed that we needed to strengthen our defence. Woolfenden has been there and done it. He played in the Prem. Most of their supporters are saying he has been treated badly and wanted to keep him.

Yes the last day of the transfer window could have been a lot better. But as a whole it has been a good one. Yes we will be weakened when the injuries start coming but that's the same for every other club.

I still have us finishing 2nd to 4th. For those saying mid table it would be good for someone saying it to name the 10 teams or so that will finish above us. We have a side full of goals. We have brought in a very experienced defender. Can't think of a squad I'd prefer to ours. And we have the funds to strengthen in the next window.
Completely agree.
The only provisos are (being completely glass half-full), it was once said, O'Hare never gets injured. EMC has struggled on and off with niggling injuries and Saka gets very little protection from the refs. Eccles and Lati have had no pre-season and will take some time to get up to speed. Our first three signings are still trying to settle in.

After sleeping on it.

We have the best right back in the league and another right back( who's pretty versatile) on the bench who would walk into more than half the teams in the league.

We have 3 absolute top quality centre backs. Top 6 material. Lats as back up isnt bad at all.

A better keeper than Wilson and Collins.

What's not to like.

Kept our best players. We will still likely have on the bench vs Norwich:

Simms
Asante
Eccles
Allen
Kane Hesler
Thomas
Bidwell
Wilson

That's a strong bench!

Not to mention arguably the best player in the league.
Don't think Tats will get in ahead of Asante yet.

I have a feeling you might be right unfortunately. Can't really remember the last Coventry player to go out on loan and turn it around here.

Really hoping he can though. Looked quite good in recent appearances and one of the main things he seemed to be lacking was experience
Callum Wilson

@Jimmy87 anything you can tell us about what went on? I believe you said an older player was lined up, any idea who that was?
