Brau will be good for this team. Either LB or LW, he’s generally scatty for positioning anyway. Trust the coaches to coach the discipline into him.

Mental owners can do all kinds of mental things. To be clear we are still a football club renting a stadium. We’re just renting it for a very long time.

I get why people were scared but I just couldn’t see it happening. Everyone saw the fallout from last time and no one won and would want it again.

Who are we renting it from?

Ipswich fans really like Woolfenden, Southampton fans think Edwards is shite...

I mean I’d never get a mortgage on a leasehold but yeah of course. It’s just there’s a few people who have said things along the lines of “we don’t have a landlord” or “we never have to deal with the council” when this clearly isn’t true.

And to be clear it’s never been me that thinks it’s unusual for a club to lease their ground from the local authority.

We don’t have a landlord. It’s a long commercial lease and is exactly the same as freehold.

Stop peddling these lies

QPR fans loved him last year.
QPR are a mid to lower level Championship team in fairness. I know there's this thing about not listening to football fans but there is a big disparity between what i'm reading on both (Southampton and Ipswich being a similar level.) I'm just not sure what people base preferences on other than vibes at times. Edwards being one of those trendy Peterborough bunch.. personally think we were smart and got the best of them in the form of EMC.

We’ll have loads of irons in the fire waiting for a domino effect of transactions. Why would it be out by now. We’re conducting our business far more professionally nowadays.

Unless that business is a blacksmiths from the sounds of it.

Yep, i'd go with the experienced player from Ipswich who did well for them over the younger player who failed at Southampton.

You are right, he is trendy but how many people here have actually watched much of Edwards play?

Watched him at posh and for the England U20s. Personally wouldn’t mind either just want a CB before Monday 🤣

I’ve only seen him play a few times. Ball playing centre back, very calm in the ball, but lacks the stature to dominate in the air or the pace to cover. I can see why QPR played him CDM.

We will have watched him a lot though because of our scouting of EMC.

Don't get me wrong, he could come good after Southampton but I'm not seeing much evidence as to why he became a bit of a forum favourite. Looks like unfulfilled potential atm whereas Woolfenden has actual achievements under his belt and is well liked by his current fanbase.

Tbf I think Woolf is a better player right now at leas. Just think Edward’s could be a good back up for the future if we can’t get Wolf in due to cost.

Any news on Ipswich bringing in a CB?

it's just a trendy name to say

fair play to him if he makes a good go of it at qpr but the fact it looks like he's being shifted on so soon and qpr is the best of his offers says a lot

Woolfenden, Godo (and Chilwell) and keep MvE would be a pretty good week. If we lose MvE I hope it’s to bring in someone a bit special elsewhere.

MacAnthony is great at marketing his players, although somewhat shit the bed this time around with most the rated ones walking for free.

Got to be mad to think we are even entertaining the idea of asking to loan him 😂 we can’t afford 20% of his wages! I am sure Chelsea have some sort of soft spot for Frank but to lend him to us and they pay the majority of his weekly wage is not the best bit of business, is it?
If it was out in the footballing world that Chelsea were looking to offload him in some way, I am sure a lot of prem clubs would show interest along with some parachute champ clubs.

I'm not sure Brau is going to be much better defensively than Dasilva from what we've seen so far. Positionally he looks poor and undisciplined.

Not much to go off and very early days, so may well be wrong, but he has a bit to learn before he's able to start IMO.

Brau is still adapting to football in a new country. He is still young and still relatively inexperienced. There is more chance we can improve him defensively than Dasilva, who has already had loads of game time and experience to draw off to already be better than he is. Dasilva is good going forward when we are dominating possession though. But Brau clearly has an attacking instinct, at times he just seems a bit too eager and trying to impress. Just needs to settle down a bit.

I think posters are being a bit overly disparaging about Edwards. He showed last season he can become a decent defender at this level, he's still young and has some excellent attributes.

Returning to QPR seems like a bit of weird move but I'd expect him to do well there and push on.

I'd imagine Southampton would probably want an inflated fee though and Woolfenden has clearly got the ability and attitude we're looking for - plus he knows how to get out of Championship - which is probably more appealing from our POV.

I'm pretty sure he played in a back 4 at the CBS last season. He looked OK. Nothing special but nothing disastrous either.

And going by SofaScore, QPR mostly played him as a CB with a few games as a CDM.
