Indont think they think they’re racist. I think they’re far think being anti Islam or anti immigrant is fine and they’re right. But where they start calling everyone of colour an illegal immigrant (or just some people out for a row) and stay leading pogroms against mosques because a Christian black guy in wales killed a kid. Yeah man. I’m an ex smoker here. I noticed it when I quit Twitter how much of an impact just being there had. And I definitely have biases and cartoon views of people, made a little harder being the only lefty in a friendship group of Brexit voting reform supporters who works in metropolitan elite London with a load of Labour voting tech workers. But we all do.
My personal trigger warning (lol sorry couldn’t help) is “hey man 50% of the planet is right and 50% left, what are the odds this is a right wing thing and not a human thing?” But I’ve been doing it all through this thread.

I'm not high horsing, Nick. I genuinely don't get why people can't just own their politics and talk about it so we can get away from posts about imaginary politicians that endorse sex crimes and just talk about issues using evidence and facts to back up what we think.
Lowe and Farage are on record as taking racist positions, have said racist things, and stirred up racist actions using racist tropes. I do not get how someone can argue that a vote for them doesn't endorse racism, and suggest that you've probably got racist attitudes.

My issue is with the phrase used online. I think western civilisation is great, it’s why things like Brexit, Trump, and the anti immigrant panic that have been pushed by the wests enemies with glee aren’t things I support.

We’re just in the period now where nothing else has replaced it yet.
It took the Romans a few hundred years to realise their civilisation had collapsed. We’re no different.

I don't think it has, but I do think that the repeated election of right wingers who slowly dismantle the state while stuffing their mates' pockets has a fair bit to do with it. Pity that we seem always more willing to give the right and far right chance after chance in government
