Having the inevitable problem of clothes starting to not fit properly after a few months of upping the workout regime. Obviously I'm happy I can see progress but I bought a load of new tshirts/hoodies last year in lockdown that are now too tight round the shoulders, and got some CCFC joggers that are way too loose around the waist and I've missed the deadline to return

Worst part about it isn't it? Dropped 14kgs since the 22nd December and now needing to replace loads of clothes. Good position to be in though!

im still slowly chipping away.

In a big old plateau last few months. Just tiny amounts coming off. Need to shift 4 pounds by the middle of June to hit my target.

Like Soul Purchased a load of new clothes last month that fit. So don't want to lose to much more !

Today is my 1 year of weight loss.

Drum roll please......

In the last year I have lost 4.2 stone. So just over 26kg.

I now weigh just over 83kg !

Not sure if I will lose much more. Otherwise I have to buy a load of new clothes and the ones I got last month wont fit !

Colossal effort that mate… fair play 👍🏻

Fantastic, that’s incredible, keep doing what you have been doing, even with some bad days you can maintain that I’m sure.

This is literally where it ends. People can talk about intermittent fasting, high protein diets*, high fat diets, slimming world, this fad that fad whatever.....if you wanna lose weight it’s calories in versus calories out and you can disguise that however you want to feel like you’ve cracked the code but it is what it is. Move more and eat less. End of story.

*if you wanna maintain muscle mass or change your composition you need to look at your macros but for the very day lifter you probably won’t notice a difference tbf

True in its essence, and I've never been one for special plans or fads. But having been on a low-carb diet for the last two weeks after having followed a restricted carb diet for the previous seven, it's quite amazing how drastically reducing the carbs diminishes the appetite/hunger pains. Doesn't get rid of the boredom and feeling of 'emptiness' of course. I find the science behind a low-carb diet quite convincing.

It may be bollocks but I like the reasoning that pre farming we didn’t have most carbs. We didn’t have rice and potatoes here until quite recently and until you’re growing wheat and making flour you’ve got no bread products, so humans probably not really made for it.

They’re so fucking tasty though 🤤

I’m by no means an expert but what worked for me (two stone dropped) was a simple case of dropping calorie intake to around 1800 a day and moving more. That moving is anything from walking around the nearby country park a few times a week to something a bit more intense (like joining my kids in the trampoline park instead of sitting watching them with a calorie laden coffee).

My Fitbit has worked wonders really as it’s a simple case of aiming for a set number of steps each day. Quitting beer was the big one for me as that’s where my calories were. I can easily do two Huel shakes/bowls of cereal in the day and then a normal dinner on the night which makes calorie counting easy.

Pretty much the same. A sustainable deficit with a focus on more movement. My Whoop band was a revelation. Sleep such an important factor as well.

Good work that is.
For context you will be losing my entire body weight when you are done.

Big fan of huel, really good for just knowing exactly what you’re eating calorie wise and there’s a mental boost to knowing it’s nutritionally complete

It’s a fucking effort mate. Imagine walking round with Hill on your back all day. You’re an absolute inspiration for us other fatties. Fair play.
I'm still a fatty 😂, just less of one still got a bit of a belly but rather than it's being a steep hill it's just a drop off now.

Yeah but it wasn’t with a view to losing weight to be fair mate, that was a nice side effect though. You can still keep the calories under control if you’re an occasional drinker, I wasn’t. 1000 cals every day in lager at least.

What’s the consistency of Huel like?

Apparently it’s rank with water (which is what they recommend). But we (me and the soon to be wife) use it with skimmed milk which adds about 30 cals in a 250mm serving. It comes out like a thickish milkshake. A couple of the flavours are decent (vanilla and salted caramel) but we couldn’t get on with the chocolate. It’s fine, not a McDonalds shake by any stretch but enjoyable enough. I can imagine it would be rough with water though.

Absolutely mate, peace of mind knowing you’ve had your daily fill of vitamins etc. without trying. It’s actually cheap as chips really when you get over the up front cost. £100 worth last me and the missus 6 weeks easily, that’s brekkie and lunch and everyday.

I've been low carb / keto over the last couple of months, I found working from home all the time is even more sedentary than working at the office and I've been that busy I've struggled to get out to exercise much. Without really doing anything exercise wise I've dropped 1 stone 9 ib, planning to start running and classes again soon which i have been reluctant to without carbs for some reason.

All went a bit quiet in here chaps, how's everyone getting on? Looking at the dates of the last few posts, looks like the Euros/new season may have interrupted a few routines... ;)
