But the extra money from the championship will 😉

I actually feel sorry for proper wasps fans that this has been such a cluster fuck for them but it sounds like the clock is ticking and if the bond holders don't agree to the changes then the club is doomed
increased costs for running the club in the championship + no match day revenue against extra money for being in the championship and transfer money of which only a portion will be made available. if you believe CCFC are in a better position than everybody else your deluded. i'm the first to admit Covid19 has destroyed the fragile finances of Wasps but people on here seem to give the impression they believe CCFC are dealing with it .

Absolutely in a better position than the vast majority of clubs in league one and probably a fair amount of clubs in the championship due to the way we have been run the last few years

Don't be jealous that we will actually have a club to support in a year unlike yourself (then maybe you plastic wasps fans will go and support the proper rugby club in Coventry)

CCFC probably have it less bad than most but are still worse off for it. Wasps however...

"I guess SISU can see a potential opportunity to screw over a business rival even in a global pandemic......such nice people!!!"

This is wasps who screw over everyone they come in to contact with.
One hedge fund from the Cayman Islands dealing with another from Malta. Wasp fans need a reality check

I don't know if this has been mentoned or not but the revaluation of stadium is coming up. If its done to include the present condition of the economy et al then hopefully that will be an ass clenching moment all round.
Good point - also the stadium naming rights are worth a lot less without CCFC

If i supported the "proper rugby club in Coventry" i would be a plastic CRFC fan as i'm not originally from these parts. likelihood of Wasps going out of business in the next 12 months? very very slim, jealousy just not in my character matey but if it makes you feel better just keep throwing it in there.

And you say we are deluded about the state of our club 😂

The fate of your club rests on the goodwill of the bond holders deferring payments, such a sustainable business model there

Before covid we ran basically self sufficient. We spent with in our means and used transer money wisely.
We have a team who we have been building and not needed to spend tens of million on and not over paying wages.
We have made ,ore TV money, more sponsorship money being int he championship and unlike every other sporting club we don't have to worry about stadium maintenance and cots involved with owning/ paying a big mortgage on one.

For example of TV money in league 1 you get 30k per home game. Championship is 100k. We have been on sky twice at home already.

Im sure we are not in a hugely rosey situation but I believe we are in a much better position that possibly all clubs in League 1 and majority of the championship and defiantly better than wasps who burn though money like there is no tomorrow.

This is a wasps fan view on it.

"I guess wasps saw a potential opportunity to screw over a football club and its supporters to get a ground in a city they don't belong... Such nice people"

That's better

Was more the statement that it was very very unlikely wasps would go out of business in a year, it's literally 50/50

If the bond holders don't agree to the latest changes wasps go out of business if they do then the life support machine ticks over to the next time they have to ask for more money

What's happened to the state of the art training ground that was going to be in Coventry 😂

And at no point have I disagreed with anything you've said , I would imagine you are better off than just about all the championship clubs apart from those still getting parachute payments. genuine questions, do you know what your wage bill is now compared to this time last year? i'm not suggesting its gone up significantly but it must be more, are you guaranteed a certain number of televised games per season so that you can budget against them?

Income from the sales of Wilson, Maddison, Bayliss, McNulty and McCallum have continued to come in over the past 18 months. We've had no upkeep of empty ground to fulfil, no stewarding costs, more tv income from games and more from being in the Championship.

Outbound there have been fees for Walker and Hamer, with significantly increased wages and not to forget that we've also collected £700k in season ticket memberships and furloughed most of our staff in the non-playing period. We'd not have budgeted for huge season ticket sales and our average gate last year was possibly only double season ticket, so it's not too bad and if we're losing it certainly can't be by much. As a low spender I'd hope at the end of all this we're actually doing better than many of our close rivals which may help us edge ahead.

Knowing how it feels, I shouldn't therefore really take any pleasure in Wasps failing .... but I do! :)

Do you know what the television income is for Wasps by playing in the Premiership and what the running costs are?
We project that CCFC will get £6M+ for being in the Championship and there are reports our wage bill last season was circa £3.5M. Hence, you are right in thinking CCFC is self sustaining.

while we are failing of the pitch i'll just enjoy us succeeding on it even if that comes to an end on Saturday

Why doesn't anyone want a bad pitch? Last year excellent football and a winning team. This season despite our style, we could perhaps do with a bit of a 'leveller' ;-)
haha. Crossed my mind too Rob. Play Brentford, Watford etc at the Ricoh, and Wycombe and the like at The Trillion !

But people on here keep saying the Ricoh

if you owned or even rented any space in Coventry that would be valid but you don't, gotcha 😉

Eventually you will be gone from Coventry, I'm quite sure of that.

Most of Coventry will be very happy too

Have a good evening
