People are going to shop for essentials, end of. The pub isn't essential and generally means more prolonged social contact. The problem is that there is scarcity in the supermarkets whereas you don't get that in the pub which leads to these behaviours.

It isn't necessary to queue for hours before a shop opens.
People clearly aren't just shopping for essentials at the minute, hence the shops are being gutted.
I'm talking about how the behaviour im on about seems to be accepted even though there's more chance of infection and also isn't necessary.

I think they are better, they seem to be places of immunity and only pubs can spread germs.
Bet there's no chance of anything been spread here with this necessary behaviour.
If somebody coughs in a pub then somebody will die but that cuntishness is going to go on for days.

What I don’t get is the whole issue over the ‘pub’ like it is the holy grail of Britishness. And I say that from a guy who has sat in the boozer pretty much every weekend for the past 20 odd years.
I’d say the same about yoga classes, book clubs and everything in between.
This isn’t the time to fight petty arguments. Give it up, go home, stay there and then in a few months we can all go back to being the ballbags that we are.
But in the meantime let’s try to stop people dying eh?

The problem is that the vast majority are panicking too much or don't seem to give a toss.
What is needed is a level head and proper thought. I put myself into lockdown a week ago. It will do me good. All work no play. Relax on days off. Have an extended stay with wife and kids when it is finally over.

Did anyone hear the Andros Townsend statement on TalkSPORT about the reasons the Premier League season has to be played out? It started out very reasonable talking about European qualification, relegation etc, then really let himself down by mentioning the payment of salaries and bonuses!
If any player is worried about the payment of a bonus due to the crisis then they should be embarrassed when other staff at their clubs who work on turnstiles etc are losing all their income.

We have home deliveries.
So many items missing from the order and loads of substitutions.(football is alive).
I think they are gearing up for community emergencies. The 10-6am closure may be a hint.
Or they could be simply stocking up of course. I just heard there is a recruitment campaign at all Food retailers.

To be fair, I have been moaning about people going to pubs AND about queuing at supermarkets.
Same shitaboutery really. The government should have closed the pubs thought not have just suggested that people don't go.
